my President will put the interests of the people ahead of corporate interests.
So who, if elected, would actually go up against the oil companies, big pharma cos. etc. and start putting policies in place that protect OUR rights instead of theirs? Who has the guts and courage to do this?

Kucinich doesn't count.

9. I didn't dismiss him; he's the obvious choice.
I didn't want a thread of Kucinichs; of course he would stand up for the people.

15. No one in this century
The "electable" ones need the payola from the money-grubbers, so they can hand it over to the TVguys for ads.

Then they must re-pay the favors to the money-grubbers, so they can get more for the next election.

Until we have a truly "public-financed" system, we will NEVER get a populist administration.

Unfortunately for us, the ones who would have to vote to make the change, are the same ones who like it the way it is:(

18. Sad, isn't it.
I'd be all in support of a 'zero tolerance' law against private election financing.

Give a private donation, go to jail.
Receive a private donation, go to jail.
Only allow public financing of campaigns and elections.

Not sure about the "soft money" given to political parties, though. It seems like that can and likely is abused as well.
