Putin discusses Iranian nuclear talks with Israel

In Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin has reported to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on his trip to Iran during the week.

The results of Putin's talks on the Iranian nuclear program were discussed at the Kremlin.

Israeli press reports had said Olmert had been planning to promote harder sanctions against Iran during his visit to Moscow.

Even though Putin has backed the Iranian government in its nuclear dispute with the West, while also urging Tehran to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Olmert is being more cautious.

After his meeting with Putin, Olmert said he intended to continue lobbying the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council in France and Britain.
