Sad story about an American peace Activist from Lebanon
So I had a meeting with our local peace group in Mid-Michigan. As our speaker, we had a fellow peace activist from Lebanon speak. He is also a teacher at the community college I attend. He and his wife are from Lebanon and thye took their children back as a vacation to visit their relatives whom they rarely see. Well as bad luck would have it, they went at the time that Israel launched their attack. they were trapped in the capitol as all the bombs fell and horror insued. They were trapped ther euntil the US finally evacuated them. his poor kids are both under 10 and were absolutely traumatized. He has been in contact with his family since and the situation there is horrible. What makes it even worse, since 9/11 he has been harrassed at the college, some students have left him threatening notes or notes saying "go back to Iraq Osama". When teachers found out he was involved in the peace movement many started shunning him. A lot of us are very lucky we are who we are..this country and the world as a whole are really on a one way train ride to hell.:-(
