We're all doing well. We got Screech's test results back. The only thing that concerns the vet is his calcium levels were above normal. We're bringing him back on Friday so they can take more blood and to see if it was just a lab error. If it's elevated he'll have to have more testing done. She said that certain cancers or kidney disease can cause elevated calcium levels. His kidney numbers though were all in normal range. Big :hug:s to you and my furry friend Crook!!

:hug: I'm optimistic - he seems fine and since all his other numbers are in the normal range, I'm confident that if it is anything serious we've caught it in time to do something about it. I asked her if his calcium level was alarmingly high and she said that it wasn't that far above the normal range.

162. When Mr. smokey was playing baseball in college, his team went to TX for some games.

They had a steak dinner at a place where they had cows on site (how sick is that?). Aaaanywho, when they other guys had eaten all they could, they gave Mr. smokey (a human garbage can) their leftovers and went out to see the cows; Mr. smokey stayed behind and ate. I think if Mr. smokey had actually SEEN the cows (he likes cows, thinks their adorable), he wouldn't suck down red meat the way he does. I think he may have even gone vegetarian.

To make a long story short: my Mom (and I) went through hell and back taking care of my stepdad when he was dying from cancer at home! I just think that she freaked, when he was hospitalized as much as he was from the time that they were gonna get married. I really like this one, and I'll find out the details on how I can go visit him.

I think that it was Mr. lefty's 15 yr. reunion (we were late bloomers) and I was about 15 wks. pregnant with "Charles in TN", and I had been on bedrest once already, but I was tired and sick, which was the norm for me early on. Anyhoo, people were drinking and smoking, the smell of both made me want to hurl, so I spent a large part of the evening in the women's room with cool paper towels around my neck, in a cocktail dress and heels, and I wasn't even drinking!! I was so glad to get home that evening! :hi: :hug:

I didn't expect to show up. A couple of friends of mine went. I got the dirt on my high school squeeze, and apparently his wife didn't age so well (we kind of overlapped in the dating chronology and sqeeze was the kind of guy who wanted a mommy figure, so the other one won out). They're on having they're FIFTH child. Oh to have been there and rub his nose in it. Even though I'm carrying some extra poundage, I still clean up really well, if I do say so myself.

Remember how we rescued Dexter, our five-month-old!

Well, my neighbor behind me is the sweetest woman in the world, and so are her kids and her husband.

We trapped Mama Cat, her five under-a-month babies (we just had to carry them). AND, we trapped all six teenager-cats (five months old like Dexter). We have a garage fixed up, and all are doing well. We will start giving them to good homes soon.

My situation has gone on for five months - they outwitted us until I came up with this new trap.

I'm glad my four indoor ones are doing fine.

181. Yes, I have six 'teenagers' that are five months old.

If I'd have known how to do it, I would have done this months earlier. I hope that I didn't wreck their lives. I'm hoping we can still find homes for the teenagers. The kittens we already have homes for. And, a home for Mama Cat (now 'Bella'). My neighbor is going to keep her!

Edited to add that I think that it's just a regular trap box. My hubby, the engineer, just fiddled with it until it worked the way we wanted it to.

We had a wild kitten in our headquarters downtown, and I think someone is thinking about adopting 'Demkittty'! I'm trying to make friends with a young, black kitten, but it's difficult when so many grown cats are trying to run him/her off and making life miserable for him/her. I'll keep trying.
