We interrupt this Gore-filled page to bring you an amusing story
Not that a Gore-filled page isn't wonderful - just thought you might like a humorous break.

I live in a very RED part of Indiana. My Iraq War Veteran husband (and Pagan) needed some items to finish painting our bedroom. He gets a 10% Military Discount at the local Lowe's, so he always shops there.

At the checkout he hands over his Military ID card to the cashier to get his discount. The lady behind him says, "Do I get a church discount?"

Without missing a beat, the cashier said "No you don't. This man earned it."

WHAT was she thinking? Did she seriously believe that she should get a discount for belonging to a church????

He has a big problem with the Mega churches and the tax exempt thing. Can't say I don't blame him!

This city has A LOT of churches and is the home of a small denomination. Sometimes these people think they own the town.

15. For my side business
I'm constantly asked by churches if I offer a church discount at which point I tell them, "My special church rate is $X per hour." It makes them feel good that they're getting a special rate, however, it's not a discount. It's $5 an hour more than my regular rate. :)
