We had these cool "Warm Welcome" plaques that would be displayed near an entrance.

The Christmas-themed ones did really well.

So our backer (one of the most rabidly-right-wing people(?){and that's saying something} I have ever known - required all employees to have a George and Laura photo displayed on their office wall or on their desk -, donations mandatory.

He said (loudly, over the phone). "So this Christmas shit is knocking it out of the park. Find out what everybody else is doing for Christmas. I mean what the fucking Muslims are doing and what the Jews and the Buddhists and the Hindus and everybody else are doing for Christmas".

I was making a brazillian dollars a year and I knew it was all over, right then and there.

21. The star and crescent have ALREADY flown over the WTC

One of my most permanent and chilling memories of 9/11, (which I watched live), was looking at the smoldering ruin of the WTC that night, with those TOWERS of smoke, from a vantage point directly across the Hudson River, on the Jersey City pier.

Details were still sketchy at that point, but everyone by then agreed it was Islam-oriented terrorism, so it gave me a shiver to look up into the sky directly above the scene to see the "star and crescent" of Islam.

In other words, from my POV. the moon above NYC was a crescent that night, and Venus (evening star?) was shining very brightly across from it. Eerie.
