Pastor Lobbies To Double Minimum Car Insurance
Pastor Lobbies To Double Minimum Car Insurance

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A local pastor is lobbying to double the minimum amount of car insurance required by law in the state of Ohio.

Ralph Flynn, a Bellevue pastor, was injured by a reckless driver in an accident in July, NBC 4's Matt Alvarez reported. That's when he decided that minimum insurance isn't enough.

"The fellow that hit me had $12,500 (of car insurance), my expenses so far are close to $100,000," he explained.

House Bill 258, if passed, would raise the state's car insurance minimum requirement from $12,500 to $25,000.

1. So instead of paying 90 dollars a month for car insurance I can pay 180?

even though I have a perfect driving, the insurance company sticks it to me because of my age.

3. The minimum in California is 15/30/5
Most people buy up. I think mine is 50/100/10.

5. That will never work
The insurance companies make more money off good drivers who buy under-insured coverage. If States wanted to do something about bad drivers who don't have insurance they could have done so for almost 100 years now.
