New Springsteen Lyrics for a War song, "Last to Die."
I read in a review from amazon from somebody who saw the song early (the full album has been flowing around the internet for many weeks now), that said this song was insipred and taken partly from John Kerry's Vietnam Speech. Here are the lryics and it sounds like a very strong song talking about today.

We took that highway til the road went black

We marked Truth or Consequences on our map

A voice drifted up from the radio

Yeah, some other voice from long ago

Who'll be the last to die for a mistake

The last to die for a mistake

Whose blood will spill

Whose heart will break

Who'll be the last to die

For a mistake

The kids are sleeping in the backseat

We're just countin' the miles you and me

We don't measure the blood we've drawn anymore

We just stack the bodies outside the door

Who'll be the last to die for a mistake

The last to die for a mistake

Whose blood will spill

Whose heart will break

Who'll be the last to die

For a mistake

The wise men were all fools

What to do?

The sun sets in flames as the city burns

Another day gone down as the night turns

And I hold you here in my heart

As things fall apart

A downtown window flushed with light

Faces of the dead at five

A martyr's silent eyes

Petition the drivers as we pass by

Who'll be the last to die for a mistake

The last to die for a mistake

Whose blood will spill?

Whose heart will break?

Who'll be the last to die

Who'll be the last to die for a mistake

The last to die for a mistake

Darlin' your tyrants and kings follow the same fate
Strung up at your city gates

And you're last to die

For a mistake

2. Wow.
Springsteen gets it - always has - always will.

He gets to the soul of the issues.

He understands the soul of those who take on the tough battles.

He sees the souls of those paying the highest costs.

3. The album is really good...kind of reminds me
of The River/ Born In the USA era sound.

The single Radio Nowhere is free on itunes right now. Not my favorite song on the album. I like the one above, Magic, Devils Arcade and Terry's Song which sounds like a Devils and Dust song.

5. to perform? Or to sit and talk too.
Cuz if you want a televised performance, the Today show is your place on September 28th I believe.

18. Not sure if Conan gets first - that could be part of the deal.
Not that Conan show is as competitive about booking as Tonight and DL certainly are.

11. I imagine Max Weinberg wants him to go on Conan first.
Max was a solid, smart Kerry supporter, too.

8. Those are powerful lyrics. It is incredible how Springsteen (and DiCaprio)
who campaigned for Kerry to get rid of Bush, still seem to think very highly of Kerry.

10. Very credible to me - They aren't the types to fall for hype and know genuine
talent and integrity when they experience it. Their issues for everyman and this earth truly matter to them, so, of course, they stand with Kerry still.

Cosmetic concern faces need not apply.

9. Bruce is still the "Boss".
And, interestingly, he shied away from politics and warned his fans about believing in politicians. This says something about the integrity and honesty of Sen. Kerry that he still respects and supports him with similar words spoken by Kerry.

15. The Boss for Prez!
Heh heh, just wishful thinking. No really, I have grown up with his music and we own EVERY album - his music is timeless, inspiring and chock-full of brilliant lyrics and melodies that stick in your head.

It is funny when rethugs use "Born in the USA" as their campaign theme song without listening to what Bruce is actually saying in the song - has anyone else ever noticed that?

LONG LIVE THE BOSS!!!
