I lived through Nixon. I recall it all ..... very, very clearly.

I lived through the rehabilitation of Nixon. I watch today as he is seen in a kinder light, if for no other reason than comparison to the man who sits now in that same oval office to which he was confined.

Will the unthinkable ever transpire and will George ever be seen as better than he is seen now?

5. I can't begin to fathom at what point in the future the Current Occupant

will EVER be viewed in a "better" or kinder light. If such an unthinkable event happens, it would have to be far beyond my lifetime in a world I would not recognize.

No matter who follows him in the next several decades, I can't see him Ever being listed as anything but Worst President of the 21st Century and Worst President Ever.

I too lived through Nixon. He was a statesman and a gentleman compared to this slobbering, babbling, worthless sack of protoplasm, and that's saying a Lot.

7. Look at Reagan. Racist, stupid, bloodthirsty, criminal, traitor. Now he's a hero.

Bush will be rehabilitated. The media will do its job.

That's not to say that in fifty years historians put him in proper perspective. I think they'll put Reagan there, too.

8. It is entirely possible that a PR campaign will be started

as soon as Cheney kicks the bucket to portray Stupid as an affable but unsophisticated man who was completely in the thrall of Cheney's Svengali act. I can see the beginnings of it, already. Stupid will be the lovable bumpkin over his head and all evil will be assigned to Cheney.

Since the Bush family has never lacked for admen to do its bidding, I fully expect it to be a successful campaign, with Stupid able to visit the country from time to time from his "farm" in Paraguay. He will be shown playing with his grandchildren. A lot.

There will, of course, be no written electronic or audio records of the inner workings of the present administration, as they will all have been illegally destroyed before they leave office (if they do).

With no evidence to the contrary, Stupid will be rehabilitated as an honest schmuck who got taken in by a bunch of city slickers.

10. My 2 cents.

Bush will be seen as the man who, presented with the facts and evidence of the uncoming energy woes, chose to floor the nations gas peddle, rather than take steps to prepare to enter a new era with technology which would have been not only a godsend, but a profitable godsend to boot.

11. I hope to see Bush compared to the worst dictators in history

if he continues on this present path. It's not inconceivable that the deaths in Iraq (of Iraqis) and the de-stabilization of the region (and it's certain implosion) will be presented accurately in the future. Unless there is a complete meltdown of academic freedom somebody's going to write those history textbooks. You can't spin a million plus deaths, 2 million displaced, tens of thousands maimed etc. etc. as a good thing - especially when it's only going to get worse (think Cambodia after we left Saigon) as the sectarian violence escalates with our waning ability to effect the oncoming onslaught.

14. Let me put it to you this way: Public school textbooks are analyzed and approved

by a small group of people in Texas with no experience or degrees in education (the late Mel and Norma Gabler for example). And the texts that are approved are published and distributed throughout the entire country.

So maybe your grandchildren will be reading in school how this visionary of a president saved the world while he was so misunderstood and unappreciated during his tenure in the White House.

Nothing surprises me anymore.

While possible, if a Democratic administration can bring this cabal to justice, then no. Otherwise I think it likely.
