Former Reagan aide says Congress must start impeachment inquiry
A constitutional lawyer who served in Ronald Reagan's administration says President Bush's "apparently criminal" authorization of a warrantless wiretapping program is grounds for the House to begin an impeachment inquiry.

By not beginning such an investigation, impeachment will become a "virtual dead letter," Bruce Fein, former deputy attorney general under Regan, said in a essay published in Slate. (http://www.slate.com/id/2173106/pagenum/all/#page_start)

==

"The House does not require, nor should it await, proof beyond a reasonable doubt of misconduct," Fein wrote in the essay published Friday. "To wait for such proof subverts the whole purpose of an impeachment inquiry."

Ample grounds for an impeachment inquiry lie in the president's shady justifications for his "Terrorist Surveillance Program," which Fein says subverted the check's on law enforcement powers inherent in the Constitution and Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

2. Impeachment
Who would start the procedings? The Democrats are paralyzed and just about as bad as the Republicans. Everyone cares about their own re-election funding.....follow the money, I say.
We need our very own lobbyists to represent us. Those we have elected serve Corporate America or whoever pays for their vote. It's called legal bribery.

A constitutional lawyer who stands for defending the Constitution above all else!

Now, are there Congress LEADERS who stand for defending the Constitution above all else?

It's not too late... but it's one to midnight.

11. Bruce Fein is compassionate about the use of impeachment....
and I like that about him but unless many more listen I do not see impeachment happening; it should have happened months ago.

14. Even If It's The Last Day, Impeachment Is Still Better Than Failure
Failure to impeach is complicity -- approval -- exoneration of the regime.

It confirms the US as a War Criminal Nation.

We avoid it at our peril.

15. Impeach Cheney first.
Start with an easier task.

16. It must be both
And yes, cheney needs to leave office first so that a caretaker can be in position.

But those are resignation/removal scenarios down the road. They can still be impeached at the same time, or in succession. It really doesn't matter much.

But any "cheney only" option is a non-starter. It is no "compromise." Dick don't need his stinking "I'm the Veep" badge to pull the puppet strings. His power is real.
