WHO'LL BE THE NEXT REPUBLICAN HYPOCRITE TO BE DRAGGED OUT OF THE CLOSET SCREAMING ABOUT MEDIA WITCH HUNTS?

A certain lil' congressman allegedly likes his trade rough

Lil' Patrick McHenry isn't a character in Comedy Central's brilliant Lil' Bush, which features Lil' Cheney, Lil' Rummy, Lil' Condi, Lil' Tony Blair, Lil' Jeb, Lil' Hillary, Lil' Mikey Moore, Lil' Obama... but not Lil' Lil' Patrick McHenry. He's too... lil'! But he may be about to get a lot bigger, at least in terms of the traditional media that has made Larry Craig a household name-- and soon. DWT readers already know that the North Carolina arch-conservative (other than 3 nut-case freshmen, McHenry's got the most reactionary voting record in Congress) is another hypocritical closet queen waiting nervously for his moment on the national stage.

And yesterday BlueNC http://bluenc.com/florida-murder/suicides-nc-ties gave Rep. McHenry's closet door a nice, loud jolt. In a scandal that will prove to be far bigger than South Park's outing of Tom Cruise (covered in great depth and detail by Wikipedia), it looks like there is a connection between McHenry and a murderous Republican homosexual love triangle/escort service.

The murdered gay Republicans include Ralph Reed's purported ex-lover, Ralph Gonzalez (former head of the rabidly homophobic Georgia Republican Party), David Abrami and McHenry guy-pal Robert Drake, the shooter. All three were found last week in a murder-suicide in an Orlando apartment. According to right-wing website, the North Carolina Conservative "All three men were active in Republican politics." They mention that Drake is "an associate" of McHenry's but don't define that. He is alleged to be an associate of quite a few younger men, some of whom are gay and some of whom are just gay-for-pay. (Note: The website in this GOP report are graphic pornographic gay prostitute sites and if you don't want to see that kind of stuff DO NOT copy and paste the links. They are purposely not in the form of links.)

1. That's Howie Klein there.
Edited on Fri Aug-31-07 03:10 PM by Tandalayo_Scheisskop
And Howie is not the sort of person to go blowing something like this out of there wasn't more than a bit of truth to it. He is not some itenerant blogger. He used to run Warner Bros. Records, amongst many other things.

I would say: keep your eyes peeled.

On edit: Howie is also quite gay and quite out. Just in case some people were wondering.

2. There may be more ... see this letter to the editor
What is the Source of McHenry's New-Found Wealth?

...

According to the Catawba County Geospatial Information Services (GIS) system, there’s a condo on Lake Hickory at 2200 6th St. NW (#2), Hickory, for which McHenry is listed as the owner since April 27, 2005. If you know the area, it’s located between the former sites of the old Rock House and the old Moose Club on “the lake road.”

...

This residence is not listed among his apparent real estate rental properties in Gastonia, Cherryville and Charlotte on Schedule III—Assets and “Unearned” Income that he reported on May 7. And yet, there it is, big as day in Deed Book 2658, Page 496, Parcel ID 3704170122320002, showing Patrick T. McHenry as the owner.

Is it barely possible that this young public servant, who likes to have his friends register and vote illegally in places where they don’t actually live, is hiding some of his assets from the public? Maybe he thinks we might object to his amassing too much of a fortune too fast?

So, for sure, something is amiss. Both the deed for 2200 6th St. NW (#2) and the House ethics reports bear McHenry’s signature. What gives here, Congressman? Can he explain this?

...

99. Yeah, thanks Fredda. At least it's not another queer scandal.
I'm beginning to doubt my doubtful sexuality. Thanks for a purely "cash and carry" scandal.

BTW, did I tell you all of my personal experience with the "angry, psycho-homo" who strongly resembles Larry Craig? Hmmm, guess not. Let's just say you were taking a dump and somebody busted in on you by hitting the door so hard the lock popped.
I should'a flung some poo, but I didn't. Too fucking shocked to react properly.

This person not only believes he's entitled, but immune from "persecution". Been there, done that, not impressed.

60. I have read (on local blogs) that even Republicans can't stand him.
It has nothing to do with his being gay, either. He is just VILE. Republicans have been hoping that Democrats will "take him down". For some reason, local Republicans feel powerless to do so.

up with power. There must be levels of power behind the curtains.

If someone doesn't have the power within a state or county, then someone from above them is empowering the person others feel powerless against? They just work too closely together, normally, and empower each other. Always moving money around to help and defeat someone not in on their games.

Powerless? Does that mean PT McHenry has knowledge? Could fit the story.

Edited on Sat Sep-01-07 08:43 PM by Augdog20
Amen to Rep. Frank, for cutting off his side-tracking questions!!!
But what was really curious was Why was the North Carolina Congressman so bent on defending American Samoa? Could it be that he has some contributors that have sweatshops there???

Check out the youtube video, courtesy from politicsandspice. (The poster praised McHenry as brilliant, but it's really Frank that comes off as the smarter one that won't get side-tracked by the Repugs' agenda-laden questions.)

Bwah-ha-HAH!

We do destroy our own, don't we? Just a week or two ago I was reading a thread where someone said something to the effect of "I'm not gay, but I hate anti-gay bigotry", and the dude got stomped on because he (supposedly) should not have had to have made the "I'm not gay, but..." disclaimer. Someone comes in, he's essentially "on our side" about one issue or another, and we still find some reason to trash him. No wonder we lose elections to imbeciles like Gee Dumbya.

If nothing else, our side is the side of dormitory intellectuals who say things like "the candidates are all the same...it doesn't matter if I vote or not", or who won't vote for the Dem because "sure, he's environmental, but he's not environmental ENOUGH...he doesn't support my pet micro-sub-issue, so I can't vote for him." Meanwhile, the Rethugs would vote for a bucket of sand if that were their candidate.

11. And here's the motive
The Associated Press reports that Robert Drake, of Rutherford County, NC was the gunman. Newspaper reports describe Drake as a friend of Gonzalez and Abrami. All three men were active in Republican politics. Gonzalez was an influential political consultant, who owned Strategum Group, and managed Congressman Tom Feeny’s 2002 campaign. The house was owned by Gonzalez; Abrami lived with Gonzalez. Newspapers and political websites have been abuzz with posts from friends and associates of Gonzalez, who speculate the motive for the murder-suicide as being a gay love triangle gone wrong. Officials have yet to release details about a possible motive.

Another, more sinister motive has been put forth by several sources, including CrimeBlog.us. Reporters there say that Drake was associated with the owner of a gay escort service in the Virginia Beach area. The owners of that escort service are facing charges that they murdered the owner of a rival company catering to the gay community. A source for the Crime Blog reporter states:

“My solid, but unconfirmed, sources say that Drake was trying to hit Gonzalez up for cash to raise money to defend a kid (Harlow Cuadra) who is on trial for murder up in Pennsylvania. The 26 year old “kid” ran a gay escort and porn business in Virginia Beach and may have had several Republican clients–Drake being one. (See www.norfolkmaleescorts.com and www.boybatter.com). . . My sources say Drake may have approached Gonzalez for funds for Cuadra’s defense, threatening to blow the lid off everything by MAKING THE REPUBLICAN CLIENT LIST OF THE GAY ESCORT BUSINESS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE.” http://crimeblog.us/?p=536#more-536

I found his MySpace and another interesting article on him when I did the google on his name.

Check them out if you like.

here's a snip of the article that I found on a blog thatled me to his MySpace

"Just this morning, TBB posted their latest entry in what has been a litany of posts digging deeper into the case. It turns out the Kocis case could be about a hell of a lot more than some starlet who wanted his 15 minutes—it involves allegations of pedophilia, bribery, vengeance and fucked-up forensics. It also offers the possibility that Cuadra is a patsy being set up by police so that they can close the Kocis case and get rid of a young gay punk currently making a mint running an escort site and recruiting gay soldiers to perform in his amateur porn videos."

13. Woo boy! If there's one thing NC repug rednecks can't abide, it's one
of their own being seen messing around with boy toys!

If this turns out to be true, the bloggers need to make sure it gets AT LEAST as much coverage as Larry Craig. This is tooo good!!

53. I hope that's how it would go down
I'm just really cynical about that.... When I first moved to Georgia we had a Dem gov, a Dem legislature, and it had been that way for 130. But in just...what...six years?...the Thugs just effing took over. It just seems like Joe NASCAR and Sally Double-Wide have totally bought into the idea that "Republican = God, Democrat = Evil Traitor". Gee Dumbya could get caught on live video molesting a corpse and they would STILL insist that he walked with God and should be obeyed without question.

63. You can thank your new voting machines for that.
2002 was a watershed year for Repubs in GA. Coincidentally, the new touch-screen voting machines came online at the same time and got a shiny new "patch" from Diebold about three weeks before the election. :argh:

76. Don't blame GA voters, blame Diebold.

That election was the year every county in GA voted with Diebold machines and the polls the day before showed Gov. Barnes and Sen. Cleland with good leads. Yet they "lost." Things that make you go hmmm, and :wtf:

Bob Barr lost too and I think it's because he spoke out against the PATRIOT Act instead of being a good little Republican and following orders from the WH. He does consulting for the ACLU now in addition to his law practice.

Or acted that way.

Yes, I'll never forgive Shameless for the tv ad showing Max morphing into Osama and Saddam. The hand of Rove was behind that one, methinks.

Shameless couldn't serve in the military because he had a "bad knee." :eyes:

Max lost both legs and an arm in Vietnam and anyone dares question his patriotism? The Bushistas just couldn't stand it that he wouldn't just go along with their plans without asking any questions. None of them had combat experience but they thought they knew better than he did.

I knew Iraq would turn out as it has.

135. This same scenario applies to Oklahoma.
I have wondered for a long time what ever happened to the solidly Democratic state I grew up in and always came back to after my many travels over the years. I'm retired now and back home for good in the Tulsa area, and I can't say when it was exactly that I noticed everything here seemed to have gone "R" in a big way, but it surely happened.

We may still have a "D" governor or a fair scattering of "D's" in office, but I know the Revolting "R's" must certainly count Oklahoma in their column (ahead of time) in every national election.

My state's current senators are among the worst of the worst (Inhoff and Coburn, the wicked idiot twins).

Was talking with my brother recently about this shift in our home state's hue from blue to red, and he was every bit as puzzled as I am about just what happened that this longtime Dem state turned Repuke and has stayed that way for way too damn long....

WAS it the machines? Or the Bible-belt mentality of so many here that bought into the Dumbya-as-God's-mouthpiece BS? I honestly don't know, but it makes me sick, and sick at heart, that OK just plain SUCKS politically these days.

and I don't mean to discount that, but I'm talking about the attitudes of the actual PEOPLE, not the damn machines. In a relatively short span of time these people fell 100% for the idea that Dems and liberals were atheistic traitors who all wanted to destroy Murka, and that Pubbies were the only ones who could make the world safe for Jesus.

McHenry Caught in Scandal; Clear Abuse of Power
'Congressman's Aide in Trouble'

Congressman Patrick McHenry, the 28 year-old freshman lawmaker from North Carolina, and former Treasurer of the CRNC, is coming under heavy fire for his involvement in the recent CRNC election.

As reported here, and on other CR blogs many months ago, Congressman McHenry threatened and imtimidated College Republican leaders in North Carolina to change their votes from Davidson to Gourley, or face retribution. Today, The Hill, "The Newspaper for and about U.S. Congress," reports that McHenry and his chief of staff, Jason Deans - who was noticeably present at the convention - made calls to numerous College Republicans, telling them that if they failed to support Paul Gourley, "y'all are screwed." . . .

Jason Deans, McHenry's Chief of Staff, and a former Chairman of the NCFCR, admits to indicating that "helping Paul was helping me and helping the congressman."

Many believe that Deans should be fired, but that the aide knows too much about the congressman's personal life. "He's basically his confidant, and knows way too much," indicates one source who worked on the campaign, "he would never fire Jason."

I don't like this. It insinuates that (a) those people were associated with McHenry - based on what proof?; and (b) that somehow he's connected to the murders. Unless it can be verified from a known reliable source, I don't think it's fair to post this. Even the source quoted in the 'Down with Tyranny' blog posts his story with a disclaimer.

U.S. congressman contrite after Colombian faux pas
Thu Aug 30, 2007 6:39PM EDT

BOGOTA (Reuters) - A U.S. congressman said on Thursday he meant no offense when he hoisted himself onto the lectern of Colombia's lower house to address his Andean colleagues, some of whom were offended or simply amused by the faux pas.

Colombian newspapers carried pictures of Rep. David Dreier, a California Republican, sitting on top of the wooden podium and talking with local legislators on Tuesday while on an official visit

38. Mike Rogers, the blogger who outed Craig, has info on McHenry too.
I mean, enough already!

The funny thing about McHenry is this: I've received tons of tips from across the state, including one from an elected official who told me, "I can tell you Patrick McHenry is gay. I've known him long enough to know."

Now, I'm not saying he is gay, but he does seem to like engaging with Barney Frank. If you have not seen the video of their exchange, it's priceless.

And on Thursday, McHenry refers to Congresswoman Ellen Taucher as a man. It seems clear to me that Patrick has some serious gender identity issues.

In typical form, is it any wonder that Patrick McHenry was the Republican attack dog against the Democrats on Foleygate? What is really funny here, is how he tries to call Foley an "obscure congressman from Florida." Check this video out:

http://www.blogactive.com/2007/05/not-just-one-voter-in-question-at-rep.html

Then there's this:

How do I know Patrick McHenry is gay? Let me put it this way: "everyone" knows Patrick McHenry is gay.

This weekend I learned that "everyone" knew Mark Foley was gay. Isn't that strange, since last week no one (outside the DC gay community) knew Mark Foley was gay?

In McHenry's case, I have completely reliable sources.
With any luck they will go on the record soon.

Today we learned that Kirk Fordham is also gay. Fordham was Foley's Chief of Staff for 10 years, and then became Tom Reynold's chief of staff. Is Tom Reynolds also gay? If so, that would explain why he was sweating buckets during his press conference with Laura Bush today.

Of course there are more Republicans who "everyone" knows are gay. Joe Scarborough discussed gay Republicans at length on tonight's show, although he avoided naming names. He eventually forced rightwinger David Bossie to admit there are gay Republicans high in the House leadership. That probably means David Dreier, chairman of the Rules Committee, who "everyone" knows is gay - but I'm just guessing. Heck, John Boehner seems excessively "natty" to me - that's a possible sign. And Denny Hastert was a high school wrestling coach who spent every afternoon with his arms (and legs?) around sweaty, muscular, scantily-clad young men - doesn't that raise suspicions? Why doesn't Scarborough name names if he's really a "journalist" - not a Republican hack?

Interestingly, the highest-ranking closeted gay Republican whom "everyone" knows is gay - Ken Mehlman, the Chairman of the Republican Party - is going nowhere near the cameras. Isn't it strange that the Chairman of the Republican Party is afraid to appear on TV at the moment when the Republican Party is facing Armageddon?

The Foley/Hastert/Boehner/Reynolds/Shimkus/Fordham scandal is metastasasizing - even neofascist Charles Krauthammer said so on FOX tonight. Joe Scarborough went even further on Olbermann - he said the GOP has hit the iceberg and there is nothing they can do to avoid sinking to the bottom of the sea.

Before L'Affaire Foley is over, the whole "sick" Republican Party - closeted gay and perverted straight alike - could well be exposed and swept out of office en masse.<snip>

This post has to LIVE in the BLOGOSPHERE and GROW LEGS! It was reported three or four days ago as a "footnote" that Repug Operatives were killed in Orlando Florida. I've not seen any follow up since KPete's post about this.

Yet these folks were killed in FLA the scened of the Boulis killings that were related to ABRAMOFF and these Rep OP's helped STEAL THE 2000 ELECTION FROM AL GORE!

Let's keep on this one by kicking it...hoping that folks will notice. And, did anyone send this to Josh Marshall's Muckraker Site? This is something with the NC links to a Conservative Site...I would think his reporters would be VERY INTERESTED IN!

Patrick McHenry is the NEW HOUSE BULL DOG...even though he looks wimpy...he's as good or better than wimpy Ralph Reed who is also mentioned in the links from KPete's post.

Let's get on this and give a break on Craig for a bit to focus on getting Abramoff, Delay and the NC Repugs along with the SC ones who are RUNNING THE REPUG PARTY and the HEIRS TO KARL ROVE AND THE CHRISTIAN COALTION!

143. These guys are tied into Tom Feeney and the 2000 election
theft. Brad Blog did extensive coverage on the death of Raymond Lemme of the Florida inspector General's Office in Vadosta, Georgia in 2003.

Excerpt: Lemme was the investigator from the Florida Inspector General's office at the Florida Dept. of Transportation (FDOT) to whom Clint Curtis had initially reported his allegations of wrongdoing by Rep. Tom Feeney (R-FL) and Yang Enterprises, Inc. (YEI). Feeney, the former running-mate of Jeb Bush in his original run for governor of Florida, was the corporate counsel and registered lobbyist for YEI while he also served as Speaker of the Florida House. In 2002, Feeney ascended to the U.S. House of Representatives where he is now a member of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee.

55.  We should take some opportunity here with these lying liars
Remember how Larry Flint was going to "blow the lid" off of congressional names? I'm sure there are numbers coming...

I'm personally not looking for kinky shit on this numb nuts Republican liars who must be so repressed sexually (and who know how else?). I think we should just make the case about how the biggest homophobes in the universe are in denial.

I want to emphasize out of all of this the formula:

Republican Denial = unable to lead country by misrepresenting reality and the inability to tell the truth.

116. More than denial
Denial is more like, "I can eat ice cream everyday--the cellulite will go away on its own."

This seems more like a severe dissociative disorder. It's one thing to deny an important aspect of yourself; it's quite another to dissociate from that aspect to the point that you go to great lengths to oppress others who share it. Then, when the suppression becomes too painful, you express that part of yourself in a very inappropriate way--airport johns & strangers, prostitutes, even children.

They are dangerous because they live in a fantasy world, where bombing the crap out of an innocent nation is an unselfish act of rescue, where putting people in positions who are totally unqualified is appropriate, where people without health care is not a problem.

I welcome any corrections or embellishments from someone who actually knows something about psychology.

That way they'd be beyond reaching, totally out to lunch for good -- or at least for a very long time if we're lucky.

Twisted, hypocritical bastards, the lot of them! If they make it to fugue state, they'd be out of our hair (oops, I mean out of our lives, must avoid pun-bait) and we could get on with restoring our nation to some sense of sanity!

69. In some cultures only certain acts are considered homosexual.
Getting a BJ from a man is not considered gay. Giving is.
Penetrating is masculine, receiving penetration: feminine.

This has antecedents in Ancient Roman cultures, that is still reflected today in cultural perceptions of homosexuality.

I have seen news articles on Middle Eastern practices that reflect this idea. Similarly for some Hispanic and Latino systems. I saw a documentary on child prostitution in Russia and, in this instance, a father was pimping out his son on the condition that the 12 year old only participate in a penetrative way.

And as to the direct question of gay for pay:

2 male (or female) prostitutes or porn actors that are straight-identified will have sex with each other for pay.

86. What is the Source of McHenry's New-Found Wealth?
Dear Editor:

I’ve been looking at Patrick McHenry’s recent U.S. House of Representatives Financial Disclosure Statement on the internet ... McHenry’s financial reports show, for instance, that he went from owning virtually nothing—he said—when he ran for Congress in 2004 to having a net worth in the bracket of “$720,000-$1.2 million” ... When McHenry first entered Congress, according to his filing, the Gastonia whiz kid reported “$68,009-$281,000” in net worth ... That year, the owner of McHenry Real Estate of Cherryville listed zero assets in his business—same as he does now ... But the disclosure forms apparently, don’t tell the whole McHenry financial story ...

98. It's official. The GOP is gay and they are about to nominate a drag queen for the GE.
My sincere apologies to the gay community. You are more than welcome to stay with us for as long as you like but I'm afraid that this is no longer your home.

In a way you did overstay your welcome.
We fought for you all these years. We were ridiculed by the Right for defending your rights. We were put down in 2004 because America considered your civil status more important than a little thing called war.
And what did we get out of it?
Now we have to find out that all this time you were flirting with the enemy. Ah, we should have known. Andrew Sullivan gave it away a long time ago. How could we be so blind not to see that we were the ones being infiltrated?
But now it is all getting clear. You used us to further your political agenda, whatever that is. The P in PNAC stands for Pink, doesn't it? Oh what a devious game you played. You made us believe you loved us, you made us believe you hated us. It is a clear case of abuse.

Never the less, we will continue to fight for what we believe is right, and that is your right to express your sexuality with pride. Your right to walk hand in hand with your head held high instead of having to do your tearoom routine in airport restrooms.

Yes, we are disappointed and sad that all these years you have played both sides of the game, but we are not angry.
If you want to stay, then stay. But if you want to leave, we will understand. If you do decide to stay, then remember that there are certain rules. Most importantly that hypocrisy is not allowed here.

Also, I expect all of you to form a queerleader squad and make a presence at the RNC with chants like: "We're here to stay, Republicans are gay!" and "Giuli, Giuli, you're our gal. Democrats will burn in hell!"

112. How He Won, or McHenry vs. The Local Republican Party Establishment
One of the interesting things to note here is how McHenry won this seat. Basically, he was an outsider of the local party establishment (with national ties) who used every Rovian trick imaginable to win the Republican primary. For one thing, it appears that McHenry doesn't even live in the district. For another thing, one of his top election officials (a guy named Michael Aaron Lay - you can't make this stuff up!) was recently indicted for voter fraud because he was allegedly living in a house owned by McHenry in the district which he listed as his voting address even though his paychecks were sent to an address in Tennessee. And not just that, but it looks like McHenry may have had more than one paid (male) staffer using his district residence as a voting address during the primary - a primary that he won by only 85 votes!

http://www.blogactive.com/2007/05/not-just-one-voter-in-question-at-rep.html

McHenry won in one of the most reliably Republican districts in the state. He won in the second primary held in August after no candidate in the first primary succeeded in winning a majority of the votes. McHenry gathered only 26% of the votes in the first primary while his challenger, long-term sherriff David Huffman, got 35%. The second primary was really, really nasty with both pols going after the hard-right voters who were about the only ones you would expect to turn out for a special 2nd primary held in the heat of a southern August. Huffman raised questions about McHenry's background and personal life, McHenry went after Huffman for alleged financial discrepancies and not being a "real conservative".

Oh, and it is worth noting too that the 10th district of North Carolina includes part of Gaston County. The head of Gaston County's Board of Elections, Sandra Page, was forced out of her position just after the 2004 election because there were 12,000 missing votes in this largely rural county. Seems she hired a voting machine technician to upload the votes and failed to oversee the process. Wow, just wow....

More general stuff here:

After one term in the North Carolina General Assembly, McHenry successfully ran for Congress in the 10th Congressional District, which had come open when nine-term incumbent Cass Ballenger retired. McHenry faced a heavily contested primary in the 10th and bested his closest opponent, Catawba County Sheriff David Huffman in a runoff primary by only 85 votes. In the general election, McHenry earned 64% of the popular vote, defeating Democrat Anne Fischer. However, it was generally thought McHenry's victory in the primary runoff was tantamount to election in November. His district is considered North Carolina's most Republican district, having sent Republicans to represent it since 1963.

Only empty Senate seats are appointed by the governor though. This would have to be a special election.

Read my previous post, the NC-10th is solidly Republican and is considered one of the most conservative districts in the South. That McHenry won the general election with only about 65% of the vote pretty much shows that his support among the local Republicans can be considered weak. He won the seat in the very low turnout 2nd primary held in August 2004. Part of the reason that he won is that he spent a lot of money showing voters how close he was with the Bush administration. Another part of how he won was bringing in young men from different parts of the country to live in his house in the district while they worked on his campaign and voted for him. McHenry has lots of enemies in the local Republican party establishment, which is why he has been working on a remake of the party establishment by bringing in his cronies.

A Republican political consultant killed in a double murder-suicide in Florida had worked on several Alabama campaigns, including Attorney General Troy King's winning race, and helped distribute an "Adam and Steve" leaflet in a legislative race that angered Democrats.

Ralph Gonzalez, 39, president of the Stratagum Group, was found dead at his Orlando home Thursday along with his roommate, attorney David Abrami, 36, and a friend, Jason Robert Drake, 30.

Police: Ex-Marine killed consultants, self
Jason Drake's motive remains unclear, they say

Henry Pierson Curtis

Sentinel Staff Writer

August 28, 2007

A former U.S. Marine shot and killed two political consultants before killing himself last week but investigators still cannot say why, the Orange County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

Forensic evidence identified Jason Drake as the killer of Republican strategists Rafael "Ralph" Gonzalez and David Abrami, sheriff's Cmdr. Joe Picanzo said.

"What prompted him to go in and commit that crime remains undetermined and may never be known," Picanzo said. "We have had so many different and conflicting statements from people."

All three men died in Gonzalez's home on Hickory Oak Boulevard on Aug. 21, but the bodies were not discovered until Thursday.

"All three associated socially and professionally to some degree," said Picanzo, who did not know how the three met.

Gonzalez, 39, was the president of Strategum Group and a former head of the Republican Party in Georgia. He managed U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney's 2002 campaign and the 2003 Orlando mayoral campaign of advertising executive Pete Barr.

Something smelled fishy there, especially when one of them was connected to Ralph Reed.

163. How Patrick McHenry Spent His Summer Break
"Rep. Patrick McHenry spent six days in Israel as a guest of the American Israel Education Foundation, a charitable organization....McHenry’s trip was paid for by the American Israel Education Foundation, an independent, non-profit, charitable organization affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. AIPAC, as it is commonly referred to, is a lobbying organization that promotes stronger ties between the United States and Israel.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan organization that monitors the role of money in politics, the foundation has spent more money on travel for members of Congress in the past two years than any other organization....Massie Ritsch, the communications director for the center, said that Israel is the top destination for elected officials.

“Members of Congress have been to Israel more often over the last two years than they have been to Chicago,” he said.

The foundation sponsored two trips this summer to Israel, one for Democrats and one for Republicans. Josh Block, the press secretary for AIPAC, said that the cost of the trip is approximately $5,000 a member.

McHenry, who had never been to Israel before, said that the trip was “very powerful.”

“To stand on the Golan Heights and look off in the distance and see Syria was incredible,” he said.

During the six-day visit, he met with numerous elected officials, including Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, as well as the foreign minister and two previous prime ministers."
