Anyone else hear this? Senate wants documents on wiretapping before they'll confirm new AG.
This was told to me by a person who was watching ABC network TV a little while ago. They said there was a breaking news announcement that covered the resignation of Gonzales and the pundit made this comment after his resignation.

Did anyone else see or hear of such? The person who called me is trustworthy, but also 86 years old and her hearing isn't always the best.

1. dems will have a lot of leeway with the confirmation
they can point to probably the most dishonest testimony by an incumbent in U.S. History and say, we better be tougher this time.

2. I didn't hear it, but it sure would be a good lever to get what they want!
I hope it's true!

3. Well, we must assume that Bush will never hand over the docs..
Because they will implicate all of them in massive high crimes. So, there will be no AG confirmation.

Then what?

The dems need to stand firm. We can't have yes-men like gonzo in important positions; and we know this admin only wants to appoint yes-men.

5. I think Shumer suggested they will ask the nominee about
production of the documents. We will see if they have the courage to carry through on that. I hope they also ask about non-partisan investigation of corruption especially the corruption in Iraq including the war profiteering that has been exposed in the Rolling Stone.
