Poll question: Have you written your candidates about the climate crisis?
If you currently support someone for office, have you written them to tell them how important it is to you and that it must be something we ALL have in our consciousness in order to make any real progress in mitigating it? That in order to change the toxic political system in this country we are the ones who must stand up to it on a moral level and dismantle it first?

2. kicking because this is important
You can't expect politicians to talk about this unless you tell them to... in BIG numbers. Sure, they should know already, but politics is not about morality in my view, but getting votes. So unless you are willing as a voter to put some time into telling them all that they had better talk about it and do something about it because it is their moral responsibility to do so, how can you complain when they don't?

3. Really? You can't?
That's funny. No one needed to tell my rep how important this issue is last year when he ran for and won his seat in the House. Same goes for my Senators. They're all leaders on the issue. No every politician is recalcitrant on this issue. Hell, in Vermont, we spent the first two weeks of the session on climate change, with testimony from leading experts.

4. Sorry, I should have specified on the "federal" level
I know from my own state that they are taking up where Washington DC is failing. However, yes, in many instances I don't think you see an issue discussed until the people make it an issue. You happen to live in a state where the environment is a priority. Others aren't as lucky.
