Though I've heard that as part of some dog training, there's a guideline that you never let your dog enter a door before you. If you do, the dog gets the idea he's top dog (no pun) as first through the door = number 1. I could see it as dominance if Bush made him wait just so he could enter first. I don't why it would be any different with humans. Happy to be proven wrong though.
