Praise the Lord & Pass the Ammunition
We don't make many cars these days, we don't make many shoes, or undershirts, or tires or toys....but boy howdy.. we still make some things...

I Pledge Allegiance to...

The plant uses bullet machines to satisfy the growing needs of the U.S. military.
Bullets are now shipped directly to the field instead of to stockpiles

Spinnin' Wheel , Got-ta Go 'Round

An automated bullet machine turns out rounds.
Since 9/11, the production of bullets has skyrocketed by over 300% at the factory.

2 of these things are NOT like the others

The plant employs over 2,000 workers who manufacture 6 million bullets a day, 5.56mm, 7.62mm. .50 caliber and 20mm rounds

Here a bullet, there a bullett , everywhere a bullett

The Lake City Army Ammunition plant in Missouri is the world's largest small caliber munitions plant in the world. In 2006, it will have made nearly 1.4 billion bullets

Merry Christmas, Soldier..(shrinkwrapped for your protection)

Colt readies an M-4 rifle to deliver to the U.S. Dept. of Defense. Colt, a maker of military equipment for 150 years, sends out about 8,000 assault rifles per month.

1. All those crates of bullets...
made me immediately think of that movie, "Lord of War".
America is in the business of killing people.

3. U.S. civilian target shooters also go through about 4 billion rounds/yr, I think...
and civilian ammunition prices have gone through the roof as a result of the increased demand due to the Iraq war (the military gets first priority). Don't forget that 5.56mm (.223) and 7.62x39mm are the two most popular civilian centerfire rifle calibers in America, with 7.62x51mm (.308 Winchester) not all that far behind.

I think civilian .223/5.56mm and 7.62x39mm ammunition prices have increased 350% to 500% since the Iraq war began. The last 7.62x39mm I had bought was around $1.75 for 20 rounds; my local gun shop now has it for $7.00/20.

:wow:

5.  What a sick screwed up country we live in .
Sure we can make bullets and bombs and all the other crap needed for one reason only , to kill and murder and mutilate but never can we do something worth while can we ?

I am ready more each day to give up any hope for this country until the day comes when we just stop this insanity .

7. This thread reminds me that I need to buy more ammo.

I know guys who want the war to end just so that the cost of ammo comes down.

I would be happy to have one of those bins of ammo.

8. I'd love a couple crates of Lake City 5.56.
But I could buy a complete upper half for my AR15 build for the price of one case of Lake City. Wolf is it, for me, until I can get a Ceiner .22lr conversion kit.
