Seattle Action: Freedom from Fear Campaign
"Imagine rocking this entire city with direct actions to cast out the tyranny of fear, the smog of deception, and the chains of silence. Imagine a citizenry that dares to act as if they are, in fact, a free people! Imagine a celebraton of democracy...This call to action is a summons to our citizenry because we can't simply stay asleep watching a treasonous band of lawbreakers bully our nation into tyranny." Pastor Rich Lang (www.realchangenews.org).

Please join us Monday night, August 5, at Trinity United Methodist Church to continue to plan our actions for Tuesday, September 11. Time is short, so we'll be finalizing our choices of actions and begin working on how to make them happen. We'll start at 7 p.m. in the gym. The address is 6512 23d Ave. NW in Ballard (north of downtown Seattle). Our goal is to start a wave here in the northwest that reaches across the country to break the pall of fear and silence that has been cast over this country since the coup of 12/12/00. We chose 9-11 as the best way to honor those who have perished as a result of our fear and silence.

1. its august 11th
not to be a cynic, but can you give me an example of a "direct action that casts out the tyranny of fear" that would rock this entire city? on a workday?

i'm in seattle.

2. That's what we'll be deciding on Monday
The action on 9-11 is meant to be the first, with a larger one to follow on Veterans Day. Hey, we've got to start somewhere, don't we?

Also, I forgot to mention that Ray McGovern (ex-CIA, admin critic, advocate of civil disobedience) will be speaking at the church tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.

3. the invite specifies august 5th
that's awhile ago.

do you mean august 13th? today? monday?

making seattle (or anyplace) pay attention on a workday involves 1 thing: stopping the flow of commerce. the highway, the streets downtown. and it enrages the populace, it doesn't persuade them. or "rock" them.
