1. Astounding
I came in on the middle of it, and when I found out he's a mine official, my mouth dropped. Ranting against global-warming legislation? "The Lord killed" the miners!?

This is actually rather stunning.

yelling about I don't know what, but nothing to do with the trapped miners

MSNBC had enough of him and went back to regular programming

4. i think he's losing it from guilt. he's insisting

5. I just started a thread
This is seriously offensive. What's more the University of Utah said there was no earthquake - it was the mine collapse that created the tremor.

I suspect his behavior has a lot more to do with those 113 safety violations in three years, rather than this god's will he's screaming about. :puke:

7. I was just preparing a thread about this
I thought I'd check one more time before I hit enter. I knew I wasn't the only one appalled by this guy.

From my own post:

I cannot believe that all he seems concerned with is saying that it's not his fault and blah, blah, blah. What about these people's families? How insensitive can any person be?

yeah. i know i'd be doing fine if my husband / brother / son was trapped underground and i didn't know if he was dead or alive. :sarcasm:

13. I bet he resisted doing MSNBC on Super Tuesdays
. . .and this CEO is the reason why. Cable news is just so bad, I keep it on all day but it can't be good for America. There is some good information but too much sensationalism.

and I don't feel any less informed for it. Just think what 4 weeks of NOT hearing NNNOOOOOOWWWWWWWW by leslie blitzer will do for ones sanity. I kind of miss the old curmudgeon jack but in reality he's just a toady too though.

It's likely the families of the victims are doubly screwed. The last thing I'd want to do is go down into one of those hellish holes, but if I had to do it, I'd demand union benefits and insurance.

earthquake or not, I don't think that has been clarified one way or another yet.

21. He just said "there's no emergency here"
He asked the Sheriff to stop the flow of traffic next to where he is so that he could speak without background noise, saying "there's no emergency here". I wonder if any of the traffic on the road is related to the rescue. It sounded pretty crazy to me. This guy seems to be more interested in his own liability than in the trapped miners.
