Mike Gravel And The Fair Tax
So Mike Gravel supports the "Fair Tax"... A national sales tax is regressive on its face... The more you earn the less of your income you spend, especially on the necessities of life...

BLECH

And he hollers at all the other Democrats...

BLECH (REDUX)

3. I like Gravel, the Fair Tax thing is not a big concern for me since it woudl never get passed.
I would rather have a President who supported the idea of something that would never get passed and bring the troops home over a President who opposed the idea of something that would never get passed and kept the troops in Iraq.

5. Yeah but even Republicans are against it.
Unless the Libertarian Party was to take majority in Congress and the Senate (never going to happen) the Fair Tax is a non existent bogeyman.

6. I once spoke to Senator Gravel a few years ago.
He appeared on CSPAN before he ever considered running for president. He mentioned his national iniitiative and gave out his website at the time.

I saw his organizations phone number on the web site and called. I heard someone answer the phone and he answered it personally.

I said hello Senator. He talked about his national iniititative. He would have to have his passed through congress. It would essentially allow citizens to put referenda on a national ballot and then eventually vote on the referenda to see if it would get enacted into law by the citizens of the US. I told him about my initiative about holding companies who give money to the GOP accountable and pressuring them with my national initiative to get legislation passed which involved direct boycotts.

He did talk about a flat tax at the time. I disagreed with him but told him that I wished him well with his national initiative.

I also once spoke to former Senator Hart on CSPAN Journal about 3 years ago.
