I just watched the US v John Lennon

I am from that time , I was past draft age when all this went on .

There is a parallel between Nixon and bush , as if this is news . I don't feel Nixon was as incidious as bush . We were not in two wars and we had the draft .

I do feel it is going to take the youth of today to become energized and active . They need a leader and a motivator as Lennon was .

I do realize this is a different time with the internet . But there is nothing wrong with the old ways , they may still work if applied in the proper fashion .

Nixon was troubled by the protests , bush seems not .

It took me a while to want to go back and relive those times , it was not easy and I had hoped we would never be in this sort of thing again however we are .

play down the "PROTESTS" and didn't the bushits write something in their mandates(or whatever) about it being terroristic to protest the War On Iraq?

One of the last things the bushits want is for the majority of our citizens takin' it to the streets. Which we may have to do cause we have to bypass the whoremedia SOMEHOW.

Yes bush is doing his best to keep the people freaked out about protests , after all at the start it was " you are either for us or against us "

I do feel if enough people mainly the youth got out there they would make an impact . They more than anyone have the time and energy to pull this off . That's what it took to end Vietnam including the troops who protested the madness .

6. Worse than ignoring it is giving equal time

Not that everyone isn't equal, or that some people are "more equal than others," but there are times and incidents when one side deserves coverage and the other doesn't.

There was a protest I attended in 2004, during the election, and a 1,000 anti-Bush protesters showed up. A total of SIX pro-Bush, counter-protest protesters also showed up. They were largely incoherent in interviews, and also in the same family. Yet they got the same amount of TV coverage, and except for on one station, on accident, it was made to seem like there were just as many (a wide shot versus that on-the-ground-practically-straight-up camera angle, plus no mention of the "pro-troops" counter-protesters' numbers).

And this is isn't the megamedia, this is the local stations.

We see the same thing done everyday, especially in the climate change "discussion."

3. I was a little before draft age in the 60's.. Also saw US v JL

... with my husband about 4 months ago. My husband, 7 years older, always had a better grasp from the 60's, and saw things before I did about Bush 43.

Basically, I had an uneasy feeling after this movie. Not only because we should not be dealing with these issues today, but also because I felt more deeply about John and Yoko today, as a 53 year old, than I did as a teenager - 20 something.

I think it's discomforting to admit I didn't understand more then, and if the youth are less naive than I was then. There is every reason to believe they are more savy, less innocent, but also reasons to ponder if they are less informed, less motivated, have weaker "parental units".

Agreeing with you regarding Nixon's moral compass versus ...this... God, I don't even know how George Bush can be summed up. In a word- unaffected.
