Imagine if BushCo had been the Nixon administration.... How would it have been different?
Since BushCo has managed to get away with so much, I'm sure they'd have made quick work of the Watergate Scandal and skated smoothly.

Imagine BushCo in the same roles as the Nixon administration. What would they have done?

Who'd have obfuscated? Lied? Refused to testify?

Who'd have been scapegoated?

How would they have dealt with Deep Throat?

What would they have done about the tapes?

One thing's for sure: Chimpy would NEVER resign.

1. I think like now, you would not have had him resign over anything that...
has gone down during his watch. Not sure what would have happened if Nixon had, had the disposition that GW does... However, it was a much different ERA at that time and I am not sure that even GW could have gotten away with the shit he is now getting away with in those days.

3. The only reason Nixon was brought down was that there were journalists
that weren't owned by 5 multinational corporations. Journalism wasn't perfect then,
but it has gone down for the third time since the media conglomeration brought on by
the Telecom "reforms" of the '90s.

7. Good point
The media would have said Democrats were playing politics and there's "no underlying crime."

9. Dems were tougher back then and didn't put up with bs, and we had real media....
... now we have no media. Instead, we have entertainment and propaganda for the administration.

10. that's not how I remember it
the Washington Post was the ONLY media outlet (print, TV, anything) that published any crap about Nixon.

We waited FOREVER for the whole mess to break. Nothing. Remember it took over 2 years after they were caught red handed in a burglary. No. One. Cared. (Except us dirty hippies). I was in law school at the time and followed it very carefully.

Nixon would never have resigned without two things: John Dean and the tapes. Maybe the tapes alone would have done it, probably not Dean alone.

With Clinton it was the blue dress. Without that, he would not have been impeached.
