and he responded back again! No I asked none of the questions you posed and to be honest I was flattered by what he said. I basically used analogy to outline the situation and my basic disagreement with him then went on to discuss other stuff. To be honest with you, I am a new listener but so far I tend to agree with most of what he says and how he says it. May I suggest that you check out his show on Air America, and then post him your thoughts. Here is my second ever e-mail to him and his response: (It is in reverse order my first e-mail to him at the bottom, his first response is above that, my reply to his response above that then his response to my reply just below this sentence):
Dear (me)
I receive a lot of emails.
Rarely do they make me humble.
This one just did.
Thanks.
I'm in this to make a difference. To win elections. To do the right thing
for America.
Once again thanks...your support is appreciated and gratefully accepted.
Jon

Subject: RE: What is more important Ending War or Impeachment?
>Sir, I still disagree with with you but I'll go no further on this than
to offer up a quick analogy, after-which I feel a need to offer up
differing thoughts and praises.
Analogy: We can plainly see a fire bug starting many fires, yes there is
no question that those fires need to be put out. Sadly the firebug is not
only continuing on setting further fires but he controls the very water
needed to put those fires out! Those whose houses have burned, those whose
houses have yet to burn but plainly see the fires and even those who can
see the smoke on the horizon are begging the firemen to STOP THE FIREBUG.
Sadly those firemen are fighting with each other over which fires to put
out. My disagreement with you is that you urge us to get our firemen to
focus on one of the most important fires because you fear those firemen
are powerless to stop the firebug. I like to believe many of those firemen
are worried about their jobs enough that they will EAGERLY fight that
firebug if so ordered by WE THE PEOPLE. I feel that encouraging WE THE
PEOPLE is the best course. (That'd be something you are in a position to
do)
Which brings me to your well earned praise. You encouraged folks to do
the one thing we can do: Contact our Congressmen, do so by e-mail by snail
mail or by phone...better yet go down and chat with them if possible. You
FURTHER offered that you would put our results on the air and contact
those Congressmen for a follow up if that is possible. YES! DING DING
DING, WINNER WINNER!!!! You are my hero for giving out that advice and a
further hero if you do indeed ATTEMPT the follow ups where appropriate! I
wish this last paragraph could be draped in American Flag-bunting because
your advice is precisely what America needs.
You had on the show tonight, a man who represented an agency which
provides $$ for children/students who have lost a parent in bushcos war.
Very noble, I think this sounds like a great program and I am proud of my
fellow Americans who thought this up and support the program. These are
indeed better times when it comes to honoring our troops. That said, I
have been far too jaded against folks. This program may have potential
for abuse and because of that potential I fear some support may have been
and will continue to be withheld. My inner voice is asking: "How do I
know the good intentions of the populace, (read contributions), are
getting in full to those deserving students and not finding it's path
diverted in part to the pockets of the unscrupulous?" Sorry, but being
jaded like this has become a survival tool these days.
Finally, may I recommend having Representative Jim McDermott, (Dem, Wa.
State) on as a guest.
Let me tell you a bit about this man that may be pertinent. During the
runnup to the Iraq Fiasco, McDermott, took it upon himself to go to Iraq
and check out things for himself. For his troubles he got labeled a
traitor and gained the name of Baghdad Jim! He gave an accounting of his
findings when he returned, mere weeks ahead of "Shock and oh my GOD
NO!!!".
This accounting was broadcast on C-SPAN. He reported to us about the
hospitals barely functioning on limited to non existent supplies and of
the babies and children suffering from the ravages of depleted uranium
oxide poisoning. He reported that the weapons inspectors where doing a
fine job if only they could be left to do their job...he told us about
many things but when he finished up he pointed his finger at us, (at the
camera) and said, "Make no mistake here, this is NOT about WMD, this is
about OIL and regime change"
Well sir, hindsight shows how right he was. He still fights for us, he
still is active working on solutions regarding Depleted Uranium and how it
affects our troops and vets. He is also one of the Congressmen who is
on-board in support of Dennis Kuccinich's HR Bill 333 to impeach Dick the
dick Cheney!
I saw Representative McDermott on a local show briefly, I don't know what
the topic was but his words, "I'd give just about anything for a chance
to get my thoughts out to the public" stood out for me. I think this
barely known man might make a great guest, if you could get him. I would
love to hear his thoughts on ...well to be frank, pretty much anything you
would like to ask him about. (Yeah, you've earned my trust like that).
Enough for now, thanks for what you are doing, I may not see eye to eye on
a key issue or two with you but I'll not deny you an A+ for what you doing
for our nation. You have what support I can offer.
