Sick from Sicko
Saw it this afternoon. Very disturbing. Not that I wasn't fully aware of the situation (except for Nixon's little gem) but to see it all laid out made both me and my wife sick.

Particularly galling was watching the smarmy, smug bastards we call "Representatives" and that SOB we call "President" as they did their business all over Americans during the past 15 years. We are truly a country of fools.

My wife seriously suggested we consider retirement to Canada.

1. I've definitely taken the idea
of going expat more seriously than I did before seeing sicko.

It used to be just a nice fantasy. Now, it feel much more plausible.

The older I get, the more I realize, I don't fit in here, in some very profound ways.

7. Even MEXICO has national health insurance!!!!!
Many of its people are too poor to afford to buy it, but it's there for all who can come up with the very reasonable rate, even expats.

I am very seriously considering a move within the next 5 years.

2. A country of greedy self serving self absorbed jerk-offs and/or deluded fools.
I haven't seen it and I doubt I will. I am outraged on a daily basis as it is. If you can retire to Canada, do it! Only wish I had that option. :-(

8. True and I hope they are able too keep their good thing going.
I hope the greed head health insurance companies don't invade Canada the way that they have here. I am sure the Canadian people would put up one hell of a fight.

4. Yep, I saw the show yesterday and it created instant tears for me...
It's so damn sad to see people living in the so called richest nation in the world being put into some of the situations they were in. I am Canadian and certainly appreciate our medical system a whole lot more now. Certainly hope that this movie will have a positive effect on changing the US medical system... Cause it sucks big time.

6. Just posting my previous post caused me serious grieve thinking about..
the people in this country that have no way out and are stuck with either no insurance, or are denied coverage even if they have insurance... May Nixon rot in hell for his doing of this terrible deed...

9. That's the most galling thing of all
in the movie, I think.

The fact that motherfucking ratbastard, shit-eating, SOB is still, STILL reaching out from the grave to fuck the country over!!!

:grr: :grr:

12. Well if Tricky dick hadn't done it, St. Raygun surely would have. It was bound to happen, either
way.

13. Easier said than done
Canada doesn't "need" uninsured Americans flooding into their system.. Kind of reminds us of what the repubes "fear" so much about US..

They are angry about those "people from the south" flooding in to "take advantage" of our jobs ....Canada has a commodity many of us here would LOVE to have as well..and Canada is not all that eager to see a migration of aging boomers heading north for the "free" healthcare their own country cannot provide ..

ironic, isn't it :)
