Dear DU,

I'm looking at the greatest page as I write this and marveling at the passion, the diversity of interests, and the across-the-board smarts of this community (not to mention the frequent moments of hilarity). Sure, there are times when I get sick of flogging the same dead horses over and over, frustrated by being nibbled to death by the political correctness ducks, bored by the infighting and annoyed by our frequent flamewars and little shitstorms of incivility. But I'm willing to put up with all that--embrace it, even--because it's better than too many rules, and too many rule-makers telling people what they can and can't say. DU, you're big and loud and rude and crude and smart and neurotic and interesting 97.3% of the time. From the smoogatz bunker here in the Great Northwoods, I salute you!
