No protests planned for Bohemian Grove event

The elite and secretive gathering at the Bohemian Grove in Monte Rio next week, greeted in past years by protesters, will go on this year without a formal demonstration, a longtime organizer said this week.

in the 60's & 70's I spent my summers at places on the Old Redwood Highway ( the road into the grove) and Willow Road (about a block away from the entrance. not many protesters but plenty of hookers hanging around in those days.
