Why Fred Thompson will be our next president

You can thank Nixon. Not only did he use Thompson as a spy on a senate committee, not only did Thompson get Nixon a heads up about the committee's knowledge of secret tapes, but Nixon accurately described him as "Dumb as hell". Nothing more can endear a candidate to your standard GOP voter than such a stamp of approval.

Think about it (probably the wrong choice of words): Whether you look at an IQ bell curve distribution, or whether you measure the self-described strength of religious beliefs compared to the incidence of mental illness, or, you realize that most neocons are willful, corrupt, war-mongering, idiots who prefer to follow the Rantings of Rush than to think on their own, this solid core of voters is guaranteed to love someone just like them - dumb.

He knows he hasn't got a chance in HELL he's just the current poster boy and he'll carry it to the bank. there's big money and prestige being a possible candidate! a real career booster,speaker on circuits,name recognition and all paid for by others!

Normally, these qualities would disqualify a person from being president. But considering the current Occupant, being dumb and lazy would be like "staying the course".

5. I think the nominee was supposed to be George Allen, a vapid

good ole boy that would be a good puppet, but he lost. I think Fred is his replacement, he scares me because he has the "Daddy" image from movies and TV that GOPers seem to need so much....and the scary thing is that he is a better actor than Bush. He'd be more belivable to your average citizen.

Allen was supposed to be the GOP standard bearer. He had all the qualifications and said all the right things making him a contender. His loss is one of the main reasons why conservatives and evangelicals can line up behind one candidate they could agree on.
