First of indicted Alaska state Repub. lawmarkers found GUILTY
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Former Alaska state Rep. Tom Anderson was found guilty of all seven felony charges brought against him. The charges were part of a corruption case prosecutors brought against Anderson in December.

Anderson winced and briefly nodded his head at the first guilty verdict. He kept his gaze down as one by one the other six counts came in.

He said he was disappointed and devastated. Anderson also said he felt he was a victim to what he described as the government's criminalization of work legislators perform.

In leaving the courtroom, Anderson said he had emotionally prepared for the worst, but hadn't expected it.

"I just feel a general error is guilt by association," Anderson said. "That's just how I feel."

His family is suffering.

Wait, what party is this guy? I looked in the article, did I miss the mention?

5. Bush can't commute him. He's a state lawmaker, not a federal representative.

8. However, it was a federal case
so I suppose a federal pardon could be in order if they wanted to.

7. There are three more indicted state Republican legislators
scheduled to be tried for the VECO briberies -- Bruce Weyhrauch, Vic Kohring and Pete Kott. Young Ben Stevens (Ted's son) hasn't been indicted yet, but he's sure to follow because he's the most corrupt of all these guys. We think they're building a super case against him because he's tied into more than one shady deal. Ted Stevens and Don Young are also being scrutinized, so it could be a clean sweep, which would be a wonderful thing.

11. Sounds like it is time for Rep Anderson to do some 'singing' ....
That prospect of a door with steel bars clanging shut behind him should help Anderson improve his memory and make the words flow freely to prosecutors about other corrupt officials.
