Medicare *is* socialized health care and it works.

1. The troops are socialized defense. Governments do step in all over the world

to provide needed service where the market will not accurately provide.

6. Agree. It's my health care, I'm a fairly high end user and it works.

The biggest change I would support is a review of reimbursements for MD's. (They're based on regional statistics) Some of the guidelines are woefully out of date.

on expenditures. The service itself is the benefit. They are considered a necessary function. Why not health care?

8. Social Security

disability is another socialized program as are government funded/subsidized Senior Nutrition programs; school lunches, HUD, anything that's funded by our tax dollars. Funny, isn't it, how the righto's avail themselves of certain socialistic programs, yet can't/won't see how something like single payer Health Care would improve their lives too?
