Michael Moore cut from Larry King to make room for Paris Hilton!?!

I saw Michael Moore on the Daily Show yesterday. He commented that he was scheduled to have the full hour on Larry King the day before but they cut him to make room for Paris Hilton.

Is that a microcosm of what is wrong with today's media, or what?

Someone should slap them for insulting the American people, to think we'd be more interested in Paris Hilton than our nation's health care system.

I guess this confirms, the media is not just trying satisfy the popular culture's interests in celebrities, they are SHOVING it down our throats, whether we want it or not!

I disagree with you.

I think (sadly) that most people would rather see Paris Hilton interviwed than Michael Moore.

Of course, the argument could be made that the media helps to perpetuate the American obsession with trivial news and information. Nevertheless, the fact remains that most Americans appear to prefer trash instead of more substantive news.
