This Saturday is the end of the presidential fundraising period. If you plan to donate, read this.

This Saturday, June 30, is the last day of the second quarter fundraising period for federal candidates. Soon after, campaigns will publicly report their donation totals for the quarter. This means that all of the Democratic candidates for president are feverishly working to bring in last-minute donations so they can post the highest-possible fundraising totals for the period.

If you are thinking of donating to any of the Democratic candidates for president, now is a good time to do it. And if you do, please do so through the Democratic Underground ActBlue page:

By donating through our ActBlue page, we can easily keep track of how much money our members have donated to the various Democratic candidates for president. And the campaigns will know that the money came from DU. I will post periodic updates to let you know where DUers donations are going.

I would never give money to any political organization over the Internet saying it is for Al Gore, especially money he will more than likely never see. If there is any need to do so otherwise than to support his current endeavors it can also be done directly to him not through a third party. Using his name just to raise money for others when he isn't even a candidate is in my view wrong. And where is that four thousand going? A 30 second sound bite? Not really effective when people could be donating directly to organizations now that will do substantial good with it concerning the climate crisis.

He is doing remarkably well over all and has an excellent response from DU.

I see so many posts for the other candidates I would have expected DU support to be more spread out.
