Obama really is articulate.
I heard Obama speak this morning. He's inspiring, uplifting, and yes, articulate. I'm not comparing him to just other black people; I'm saying compared to ALL PEOPLE, he's one of the best speakers I've ever heard, anywhere. Great voice. Great presence. He gives people hope.

I have never been called articulate, and it's not because I'm white; it's because I absolutely SUCK at public speaking, even to an audience of one. Regardless of Biden's foot-in-mouth (which was a badly fumbled compliment IMO), and regardless of Obama's race, he really is objectively all that: A strong anti-war voice. A man who can lead the whole country without turning one party against him. I can see him as president. And I can't help but think what a healing influence he would be for our race-torn nation.

I've pledged to support another candidate who hasn't announced yet, but if Obama is our nominee, I will work for him tirelessly and enthusiastically. I hope you will join me.

4. He's very very impressive. And he does convey a sense of hope and optimism,
which is very much needed now.

5. Yep.
Biden says he meant "a clean slate". I've decided to take him at his word.

but absolutely will support Obama is he is the nominee. He's incredible.

And if it turns out his time isn't now to be president, it will come. I know it.

8. I have one minor complaint, so far against Obama.
I guess I can post it here. I saw him speak about a week ago on CNN or somewhere and Wolf Blitzer was itnerviewing him. He spoke real well except that he sounded a little Bushed.:) He said "uh" a whole bunch of times. That was probably the first time I heard him spoke for so long. I hope it doesn't happen very often.

10. I think I saw a clip of that, and I agree.
He sounded ...ahem... TIRED. ;)

But give him a crowd and a microphone and he'll bring the house to its feet.

12. Scared of gaffing
I can't blame him for being overly cautious about every word he says at this point.

9. I have also been impressed. His quotes are showing up more on NPR now that he
is ALMOST an official candidate. Right? He hasn't made it officially official?

13. as the Daily Kos poster said
Obama sounds like a community leader rather than a politician. That's what makes him inspiring. Obama spent the years betwen his graduation from college and entering law school working in the poor neighborhoods of Chicago as a community orgainzer, helping people come together to improve their lives.

17. I agree he is articulate. My one difference would be wondering if he
would really be a healing influence for our race-torn nation.

I was surprised to read that there is at least some conflict among African Americans as to whether or not he is truly "black".
