DU has changed my life. Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad.

Truth really can hurt. It cuts like a knife.

Thank you for my education, awareness, spelling and grammar lessons, and for being here when I thought I wouldn't make it one more day.

11. We don't get to see the activity in the Moderator's Forum.

It's substantial, I can assure you. Just for grins, take a snapshot of individual post counts at the beginning of a 'term' for a team of moderators - and then check at the end. I can assure you that it's pretty significant. (I don't think I'm saying anything "out of school" here. My own post count went up enormously during my 6 months as a moderator.)

I saw a mod post something in a thread that was out of context with the topic, but on target with the intention of the thread. It was as if you were only seeing one part of an on going conversation. It took me a second before it hit me... They must have their own under-underground forum!

It makes sense in regards to decision making, and you know there are times they must need to blow off some steam too.

43. I can recal waaaaaay back when.........

I was sloooooowly approaching my 100 post count. Awaaaaay back then, I'd be mentioned by name here (along with all the other 100s). That was an occasion for silent celebration. Had I still been a drinking person, I'd have celebrated it in some style. Then 200, followed by 300, and then subsequent intervals of 100. My memory is a little hazy as to at which point those anniversaries were no longer announced, and when the practice ceased altogether.

I won't even hazard a guess as to how many of my posts were worthwhile, but NONE were done solely to churn up higher post counts! I value this DU Community too highly to cheapen it in that manner.

So I wish you (and all others here): HAPPY POSTING,AND FOR MANY DAYS TO COME!
