I need to vent...
I will be so disgusted if somehow Hillary manages to get the Democratic nomination. With her kitchen sink strategy and sucking up to McCain she just infuriates me. She has done nothing positive in this entire campaign. She has tried every induendo possible to bring Obama down. Now she is in tag team with McCain in criticising Obama for his comment on small town America. Obama has conceded he said it the wrong way, but any thinking person knows what his point was and that it wasn't meant to be a put down at all but an explaination of the pain especially in small town America of seeing Main street go out of business. If for some reason Obama is derailed I just hope the Democratic party will look elsewhere for a nominee (Al Gore?, John Edwards?)but if it's Hillary after this campaign I honestly don't know if I can vote for her.

I've vented on the spur of the minute and probably tomorrow will regret it, but I just had to.

1. Venting too
I just saw her comments from earlier today and also what she just said in a speech she is giving right now. Beyond DESPICABLE, I just cannot find words to describe how appaling I find the way she is using and spinning this. Both her and McCain are acting like hyenas cicling for the kill. I hope and pray that they will come to taste the "bitterness" of their own poison.

5. See my other thread I just posted. There is no line. People need to understand that.
No moral compass, no line that shouldn't be crossed.

3. take heart
this will blow over and be replaced with something else soon. It's the Clintons 'turn', and the MSM will make sure that it happens that way, using whatever they say against them as well. It keeps their ratings high, and they know it.
Don't forget either, that McCain's free ride won't last all that much longer.
The 22nd is still a good ways away in political terms and a lot can happen.

4. May I join the vent in a slightly different way?
I'm so very, very tired of all the spin ... Let's see the MSM had a field day attacking a retired minister over some out of context quotes and ignoring years of terrific ministry and service at one of the top churches in the UCC ... now it's the "bitterness" quote. And Obama was spot on with that comment ... now that is somehow going to send his entire campaign in the dumpster. I've had to hear that his BOWLING skills and ordering orange juice in a diner make him "less in touch."

While the MSM is hyperventilating over these things and using THESE criteria for deciding our future, details on meetings in the White House about TORTURE ... err ... "enhanced interrogation" are released (but Obama drank ORANGE JUICE!!!), 80,000 jobs disappeared last month, we won't help the person who got foreclosed but we BAIL OUT BEAR-STEARNS, and we learn how many MILLIONS of dollars were used by government employees on lingerie and fancy dinners. (Oh, and I forgot all the spinning about Iraq and why we need to stay on and on and on)

I'm sick of the coverage Hillary gets when she "throws the kitchen sink" and the free pass the crazy old man with the anger management problem gets. He's a MAVERICK!!! THE STRAIGHT TALK EXPRESS!!!

For me, Hillary's gawdawful campaign is only ONE facet of appalling campaign coverage that keeps the electorate distracted from the issues that need to be discussed to make good decisions about our future.

7. There is no chance that she can get the nomination.
None. That shipped sailed in Wisconsin and started taking on water in Texas. Just because the boat still can be seen in the water doesn't mean that it isn't sinking.

In three months she hasn't added anybody to her cause that wasn't already there. At this point I think that they cannot find a face saving way out.

8. It's all good to vent
I am bitter, well, because I am tired of this smear campaign and taking every little, simple thing Obama says out of context. It is clear that the media is really afraid of Obama.

cursing at no one in particular (I live alone and just scream at the TV, and at people in forums, and just nobody in particular, just general anger).

I'm sooo afraid they have some "big bombshell" they're going to drop just two or three days before the 22nd. We've been through this so many times--with Dean, with Kerry, with the "lesser candidates" this time around--"they" have ways of destroying whom they want to destroy--if the process is allowed to play out and Obama really can fulfill the will of the people and make it all the way to Inauguration Day, I will believe in the power of goodness to overcome evil again.

10. what you said.
Though I'm also hopeful that the Obama campaign will be ready to respond and that people, this time around, will see through the fearmongering and the lies. It's not only time for politics to change. It's also time for VOTERS to change; if they do, we'll be alright.
