give me some assurance that the Secret Service is up to the task.

I have a terrible sense of foreboding, based on what I read online.

I think I'm going to have to stay away from political stuff online for awhile, and stick to watching Rachel.

I almost can't bear this sense of malaise I feel, and it has nothing to do with anything the President has done or is contemplating doing. It is the general sense of hatred I'm getting from online idiots which is causing my distress…

(And from what I see of the Secret Service, they are more than up to the task. For one thing, they're simply not going to have ANYTHING happen to the first African-American president on *their* watch - no way! :) And secondly, the agents that I see around Obama seem to love the guy, so, they seem to be as solid as it gets.)

The poor haters have something missing in their brain that allows them to think for themselves but no way should they be allowed to bring others down.

One thing about their blatant hate is..the ones who protect President Obama and his family are on high alert and I love them for what they do.

5. I did that weeks ago.

But then I visited my son's Facebook page, and saw that he had posted a fairly good response on a Facebook discussion.

Somehow, I got embroiled in it, and the people there make GD and GDP posters look like people who would send Valentines to the White House.

I'm really scared for us all, and especially for the President.

10. And if you think about it.....

.... while I'm not expert on Presidential assasinations, the things that went wrong with Kennedy and Reagan simply DONT happen anymore.

Obviously the President doesn't ride in an open car (it's a Bradley taken as you said above) and Reagan was shot while walking on the open street. Obama walks back and forth to the OEO, which is sealed off from the other streets around the WH, but as far as walking out in the open ... nope ... you'll notice he never goes in the front door anywhere. (Remember Teddy's funeral.)

It's a bit sad really .... if you remember that trip that he and Michelle took to NYC for the play, when they arrived at the theater, he got out first while she stayed IN the car. As soon as he was safely in the building, she got out. Obviously I'm speculating and I dont want to get graphic, but if you think about it, you'll understand why they did it that way. Sad that they couldn't walk hand in hand into the building like an ordinary couple.

The sacrifices that woman makes. Bless her.

and the President is surrounded by an immediate detail of about 9 guys, to say nothing of the hundreds of others that line the streets and buildings when he's out in the open air.

Even though the hate is massive there, the stupidity is even greater than the hate, which gives me more confidence that the stupid will win out over the hate.
