4. who cares?!
I can't be the only person who thinks campaigning is just plain stupid. Look how much damn time and money is wasted campaigning - Biden, Dodd, Edwards, Kucinich, Richardson.... how much fucking money did these guys spend on their campaigns that could have gone to something useful? And they weren't big spenders!! We need federal financing of campaigns, and ought to keep them really really simple. Anyone can look at a candidates platform, watch debates (when all of the candidates are allowed to debate), look through their record and make a decision based on that. What point is there in campaigning? That's just so much bullshit retail politics that this video is making a point of calling out as the BS that it is. Someone went to a pancake breakfast or a fair or a cocktail party - who fucking cares?

7. So would you prefer the campaigns be run by whoever can perform best in scripted debates?
Or have it be determined by whoever has the most money to make the most ad buys?

10. I'd prefer there be no campaigns as they are now
I don't think we should have political adds on television, radio, etc. Citizens should be interested in finding out about the candidates for themselves, not being told about them from the TV.

2. I like Mike
He's like America's grumpy uncle who tells it like it is, someone I could vote FOR.

But alas, there's someone I must vote against.

5. nope - voting against isn't how it works
if you use your vote to vote "against" someone (I use quotes because a negative vote is not an option on the ballot) you're wasting your vote. Your voice is going unheard if you vote against someone, and you're giving away your role in our democracy to play a bit part in a popularity contest.

6. I know,
actually I'm torn to shreds about who to vote "for".

I so badly want to write in Kucinich or vote FOR Gravel as an honorable support of democracy, the way democracy is meant to be. But I see a bu$hie getting dangerously close to the Blight House, and I can't imagine another 4 years of the same murderous, treasonous, profiteering shit.
:dilemma:

9. it sucks that Kucinich dropped out
the only candidates I really liked were Kucinich, Richardson and Gravel. Being a Michigan citizen, I couldn't vote (well, I could have, but I saw participating in their farce of a primary as being completely pointless), but I think I would have voted for Kucinich. Since you still can vote, I really think you're best off voting for the person you'd most like to have as president. If that's Gravel, great. If it's Obama or Clinton, then that's good too. One of these three will be the Democratic nominee (and it probably won't be Gravel). I guess my point is, you could use your primary vote to vote against someone and have that person still get the nod - what did you prove if you did that? what did you help? It seems like that would only give a false showing of support to whoever it was you did cast that vote for. There's not point in trying to guess who's going to win, so I think it's best for everyone to just vote for who they'd like the best from the options they have, just like in the general election.

They say McCain is tough but against all odds Gravel is battling in there, good on him.

11. Gravel = Waste of vote
My first choice was Kucinich, 2nd was Gravel. But come on. Neither had a chance and they knew that. They just wanted to be heard on the national stage. Obama is my 3rd choice based on my views.

The reality is that either Obama or Clinton will get the nominee. You should vote for the candidate that will best represent you're views.

12. Gravel best represents my views out of the 3 still running.
Kucinich was my first, then Edwards, and finally Gravel.
Obama and Hillary are the same, so it doesn't matter which one wins.
A wasted vote is voting for someone that you don't like.
