Chris Dodd speaks out against providing retroactive immunity for telecom companies that broke the law to help the Bush administration spy on Americans.

Unfortunately, Sens. Joe Biden, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama -- all who had previously indicated they would support a filibuster -- are absent from Senate chambers today.

1. Why is this so hard to understand?
They broke the law! One plus one equals two! This is not rocket science! It makes my head hurt.

3. DEMOWEENIES
The fact that NONE of the front runners were present to support Dodd tells us all what kind of President's these folks will make. GUTLESS, UNPRINCIPLED and IN THE HANDS of BIG CORPS. from day 1. Enough of this BS where in our Constitution are Corps. mentioned?? Yet, these Orgs. now totally control the Congress and the WH and the People be damned!

6. I don't have an answer -- there MAY be a good reason, but until I hear it,
I'm pissed at them all.

7. I read earlier that Obama explained that
60 no votes were needed to kill the filibuster. He supports the filibuster so even by not voting he effectively voted yes.

9. They most certainly should have shown up to get their vote on record
Some things trump campaign rhetoric.

5. K&R!
The video plays if you click the UTube link. Chris Dodd is doing good work that we (and out representatives) should be supporting all the way.

11. Send the Dodd campaign
a contribution. That is the only way we could show appreciation for what a great big difference he has made, especially in contrast to the cowardice shown by the other candidates. Kennedy was also magnificent. BTW, I think Kennedy is vastly underrated. He is very forceful, eloquent, and effective when the occasion demands.
