A republican caller takes on Cenk with regard to why it's ok for the government to spy on innocent Americans (because if you've done nothing wrong you've got nothing to hide).

it's almost funny how the right wingers on the other side of the country make the same bad arguments that the local ones here make. Or would be if it weren't so old.

The caller got his ass handed to him, and I don't think he even realizes it.

It's Jimmy Carter's fault, that had to come. Republicans selling weapons all over the place, breaking the law is patriotic... in the big picture, oh man.

Good that comparison with East Germany and Soviet Union spying, would have liked to hear Jeff's response to that... or actually not.

or he would circle back to how the Republicans are the ones who are more moral. It really makes you realize just how important having an honest media is, and how much the current lack of it has damaged us.

It's not that they don't get it, it's a bit of both not wanting to and ignorance. Cenk explains it and instead of the caller discussing what he says, he right away goes to a tangent about some crap he heard on right wing radio. He didn't want to get "it". Just as he probably has a hard time admitting when he is wrong.

It's true too. I think it is a real eye-opener to listeners when this topic is broken down like this. Those who go along with giving up their civil liberties and turn away from the Constitution are enabling terror itself.
