In tonight's Daily Take - I'll tell you why the rise of a new global empire may be the best thing that has happened to the United States in generations. According to the International Monetary Fund - China will overtake the United States as the world's top economy in just 5 years. Come 2016 - it will be the end of the American Empire as we know it. And it will be the best news our nation has received in a very, very long time. From our military misadventures abroad - to our crumbling infrastructure and woefully slow start on adopting alternative energy here at home - to our reliance on banksters and their boom-bust cycles - to the loss of "Made in America" manufacturing - to the corruption of our media - and the disintegration of accountability in our government - there were numerous troubling sign posts on our nation's road to ruin. But many of these dangers are lurking just below the surface - not on the minds of most Americans. But in 2016 - when China becomes the new top power player in the world economy - then we'll no longer be able to ignore America's fall from grace - and on that day - we'll have too look ourselves in the mirror and say - ya know, maybe this whole empire thing was a bad idea from the get-go. Empire is cancer.

1. This is my hopes. I lived in rural America just before WWII and
we had just gotten electricity, still lived in extended families, farmed mostly with intensive farming methods, country schools, doctors who came to the home (and took chickens in return for services if they had to), sewed our own clothing and lived pretty good. BUT we were far from self-sufficient. Our neighbors in the south raised cotton so we could make those clothes. There were also farmers who raised things that did not grow in our area - bananas, oranges, wheat, etc. For me there is not a lot of fear connected with simpler living.

But today the chicken for medical services is better served by programs like Medicare/Medicaid. So I want is to do that planning - it does seem we are going to have to do it from the bottom up though as I have not heard a single government official talking about it.

Thanks for reporting the good news but 5 years will be a long time to still suffer this wickedness which is empire.

3. He's correct , of course...
... save for the hope of a non-painful ending. It's patently obvious that our political/economic/military leaders, (actually one in the same), will be dragged out kicking and screaming, rather than graciously admit defeat. And, guess who will bear the brunt of that poor decision/planning? :(

4. The big fear is that the
addiction to power may prove the ultimate undoing.

5. To paraphrase Margaret Thatcher...
Wars for Empire are great...until you run out of other people's children.
