If only Barack Obama listened to Paul Krugman, but alas, Obama is much less of a Keynesian, as indicated by his economic policies.

1. Recommended.

The problem with millions of American is that what they believe is the opposite of reality. We literally have a mentally ill country. There is no one alive that will say that someone believing in the opposite of reality is sane. But there it is for anyone to see. My recommend was negated.

2. The problem with Americans is that they believe in common sense.

The problem with common sense is that it's so terribly common. If the "great unwashed" would take economics 101 at their junior college they would learn how woefully they are being deceived. "Oh we need to reign in the deficit and cut taxes that will solve our economic problems, why that's just common sense". The common man really believes this common bullshit, yet he desperately wants to send his children to college where they will learn that austerity will never create jobs. The common man disdains as "elitist" educated men like Krugman but will kill themselves to provide their kids with his education. The common sense person truly deserves the common bullshit that they're drowning in. Oh, also, Robert Reich was Clinton's Secty. of Labor and main economic advisor. The economy was booming during Clintons' tenure. Reich has a very erudite blog at

4. Good argument - well done!

The problem is that Obama is too far too the right, and is afraid of what may seem too leftist or liberal, even if it's really just common sense.

Krugman's (and Stieglitz's) predictions, I am afraid, will come true in the long run. We are not going through a good time right now. And our President, who's election was a visionary event for our country, is failing at being a visionary himself.
