2. DOE is likely never to say what the "crimes" were.

The estranged wife who, allegedly, perpetrated whatever it was that was perpetrated, was out of town long before DOE staged the raid. DOE could have and should have known this. Now DOE will clam up and possibly stop the investigation because they've been exposed as idiots who, if they revealed all of the facts of the case, would be over-exposed as idiots. There was nothing here that justified treating an American family like Al Qaeda operatives. Nothing. No way the crime -- if there was a crime -- justifies this type of horrible, thuggish, swinish police action.

They don't treat the Corporate Officers this way even when the Corporate Officers defraud 10's of 1,000's people out of their life savings. Shoot, the DOJ hardly ever even issue warrants against the rich and powerful. And when they do, the media gets all over the "humiliation" these poor millionaire bastards are subjected to, like a perp-walk is a big hairy punishment in itself. Remember Kenny Lay's "humiliation"? Was he dragged out of his house at dawn and in his underwear? Yeah, right! No, he was "humiliated" by being gently handcuffed and treated like a goddam lord by the arresting officers.

Disgusting from the get go, this is nevertheless a sign of the times. We are, let's face it, sheep, who are allowed to move around in the fenced-in pasture with relative freedom, but only until the shepherds get hungry.
