National Day of Prayer Task Force Releases Action-Packed Advertisement

http://www.goddiscussion.com/44501/national-day-of-pray...

The National Day of Prayer Task Force advocates Christian dominionism theology, referencing the "7 Mountains" http://www.goddiscussion.com/38439/national-day-of-pray... / of culture that dominionists believe must be controlled by Christians in order to prepare a Christ-like kingdom on earth so that Jesus Christ can return and rule. In its mission statement http://nationaldayofprayer.org/about/our-mission / , it states that its vision is, among other things,

Emphasize prayer for America and its leadership in the seven centers of power: Government, Military, Media, Business, Education, Church and Family (I Timothy 2:1-6)

Government sponsorship and endorsement was deemed unconstitutional in an April 15, 2010, ruling by the US District Court in Wisconsin. The decision is currently being appealed. The Freedom From Religion Foundation http://ffrf.org/legal/national-day-of-prayer-victory / , the plaintiff in the case which challenged the constitutionality of the presidential proclamation of a National Day of Prayer, remarked in 2010,

The religious-right backlash has begun. Religious-right groups are raising funds and a ruckus to protest the ruling. The National Day of Prayer Task Force (housed in Focus on the Family headquarters), has hijacked the National Day of Prayer as an evangelical Christian event. The Alliance Defense Fund, a theocratic legal group working closely with the task force, and which has a whopping $32.7 million annual budget, is shamelessly raising more funds to fight FFRFs victory. A bipartisan group of House lawmakers has denounced the decision. Many public officials, including President Obama, are planning to observe the National Day of Prayer.

She was just soooo excited that her prayers had been answered. I refuse to participate in the conjuring up of any more natural disasters.
