2. Thomas hid his wife's income to get on SCOTUS, hid it further to keep her employed,...
Edited on Sat Feb-05-11 01:13 PM by Festivito
hid it further to give her more clients.

These are conflicts of interest. He needs to be deposed and his decisions tossed.

EDITED to say his decisions should be tossed, not just reviewed.

3. As Reese also mentioned, at the time votes were still being counted in the 2000 election,
Thomas' wife was working with Bush's campaign, which should have recused Thomas from the SCOTUS decision. And it was determined after the court's decision that the votes finally tallied in Florida would have given Gore the election.

I hope Reese is successful in getting Thomas investigated. He & Scalia have made a mockery of the Supreme Court with their flagrant abuse of their positions. Roberts & Alito are learning from these guys.

6. Yes, he was keeping his wife employed, employed handling the transition to Bush.
And, that was further enriching himself through his family.

He needs to go, and he needs to go in disgrace.

5. K&R this to the top!
Clarence Thomas should not be serving on the supreme court, no way. Like I suspected all along, he was only a stooge for the 'far right' (fascists).

9. This story is getting big enough that the press isn't ignoring it anymore

I'd be willing to bet that Fox "News" viewers don't know about it yet, but most of us do.

Now, given the IOKIYR principle, and the fact that the Republiscum control the House I'm pretty skeptical that anything will ever come of this- at most the ass-pincher will announce his retirement earlier than expected- but at least we all know how unfit he is to serve.

Scalia next!

10. the obvious conflict of interest is what kept him from disclosing her income and who she
worked for. It is another reason in the long list of conflicts of interest and borderline criminal conspiracy (not to mention incompetence) that should make a strong case for either prosecution or impeachment. The revelation here about Bush v Gore and how his wife WORKED for BUSH'S transition team- made me SOOOOO EFFFIIN ANGRY.. any judge with integrity would have recused himself. To imagine what could have been....

12. Thank you so much Kevin for knowing, defending and protecting the law equally
Please don't let them discourage or intimidate you. Keep up the good fight. Wear a bullet-proof vest and don't eat at any one place on a regular basis. Keep your car in a secure location and watch your back at all times. Unless you're well-armed, I'd stay at an undisclosed, alternate location, too. This is BIG and I'm sure they want to shut you up and out on this. Corruption is rampant in this country right now and they don't even try to hide it. What we would be locked up for, the highly and over-paid-with-our-tax-dollars, "supposed civil servants" are commended on getting away with. Thank you again for having the courage to take this on.

16. One Law for the "Rulers"
and a different law for the "Ruled" is Tyranny. We need to not waste the momentum of Egypt, Tunis and others. We need a peaceful Revolution NOW, to return our laws to, at least, pre-Reagan era.
"Citizens United" is not valid, as I am sure many other RW "laws" that Thomas has cast a deciding voice in, are not.
Thomas must be impeached, the decisions set aside, and heard after a new SCOTUS "Justice" (right) has been seated.
Damn it America, let's not "go gentle into that good night."
Peaceful Revolution, the worldwide momentum is already there, if we do not strike soon, we may as well keep bending over....it gets worse.

20. The IRS rewards informants
with a percentage of monies recovered. We all should snitch on Thomas.
In his book "The Betrayal of America," Vincent Bugliosi lays out the case for indicting and convicting the felonious five who handed the presidency to the Bush cartel.
Scalia granted the stay that stopped the recount, and his son also worked for the firm representing Bush, a conflict of interest. Thomas' wife was on the Bush transition team, and thus Justice Thomas made money on the Bush appointment to President.
Treasonous
