33. I can't say I ever bought into the 'Bush is of low intelligence' argument
I think Bush's intelligence is a bit above average when compared with the population at large -- though when stacked against the rest of the elite political class, he is definitely well below average. Palin however, is of average intelligence (at best) when compared with the rest of the population, putting her near the very bottom of the elite political class, which accounts for her utter inability to keep up even with the likes of intellectual non-heavyweights such as the falafel-meister.

It's interesting though, how intelligence can only get you so far in politics. I think our three smartest presidents of the last 50 years were Nixon, Carter, and Clinton. Carter was perhaps a bit TOO smart for his own good and Nixon and Clinton both saw their legacies/credibility damaged by scandals unrelated to their intellectual capacity. Also, I think the impression of Bush as not very smart was partly intentional and resulted from his team's efforts to brand him as a 'West Texas everyman' despite his elite New England roots. As for Palin, I don't think her handlers had to put in a whole lot of effort to brand her as somebody who isn't any smarter than the rest of us, because she clearly isn't.

37. I can only agree up to a certain point about Bush.
As an RN, I noticed some rather disturbing behaviors he projected. When he was running for congress in Texas, I heard some of his speeches and he was articulate and sounded intelligent. This was despite the fact that he was still drinking at the time. Fast forward to the 2000s and the guy displayed the mannerisms of someone who had brain damage from alcohol abuse, possibly incomplete recovery from Korsakoff's Syndrome. His frequent falls and garbled speech are a good sign that he might have not recovered from his bouts with alcoholism without some permanent neurological damage. Or maybe that he was still drinking heavily. But, my money is on neurotoxic alcohol syndrome.

...which in many ways is worst than simply being stupid. He never had any trouble speaking about things he was actually interested in, just on things that had to do with his job.

I laughed my ass off at her trying to make her simplistic answers fit reality.

She was at least smart enough to see she was fucking up and constantly tried to change the subject.

I particularly liked at the end where she mentioned Raygun preparing to praise him and then did a quick 180 after O'Reilly says "Reagan botched it".

Blithering douchebag.

"Palin knows she's being skewered but she's probably got no standing to go whining to Fox that O'Reilly - their number one host - didn't treat her fairly by asking her questions she couldn't answer." (Wasn't that precisely her complaint about Couric?)

Probably told the producers, I'm not going back on his show until he ask easy question. We're Shaun Hannity? From what I've heard, Bill is still pissed that he didn't get the first interview with her after the election. As you recall, Hannity did. Word is, he has a running feud with Hannity. He thinks Hannity and Palin is lightweight to him. Hannity is uneducated and Palin is undereducated. :toast:

11. I think I see what is going on here
Murdoch, Ailes (and probably Rove in the background) & co. are probably scared to death
that the teabaggers might ultimately gain enough sway over the Republican Party to actually
nominate Palin in 2012, which would lead to a Democratic landslide in 2012 that seems
completely unimaginable today. To usher in the chance of a coherent (by GOP standards)
candidate, they have to start to tear down Palin in time for any sympathy for her to fade.

Hannity and that crowd. Paul(s), Angle, Brewer, DeMint, Vitter are the face of the party now. Republicans no longer listen to McConnell, Hatch, Boehner and the rest of the "leaders".

31. I agree, the predator class just thinks she is to stupid to be amenable to their agenda,
Edited on Sun Jul-11-10 12:29 PM by Larry Ogg
fearing that she might resort to her own agenda of getting the world ready for the return of Jesus, burning a third of it with the fire of nuclear bombs don't ya know; of course she would burn more if she could, except for the fact that two thirds of it is water... Besides they only let her be John McFucknoodle's running mate because they knew it was time for Democrats to be in the White House; it's that balancing of the pretend democracy illusion thingy... Another benefit of her running with John McSame was that they needed a way to measure the size of the right wing authoritarian base and too see just how narcissistic bat shit crazy stupid they have become; not necessarily in that order, but still, something they can use in a pinch, and to their benefit should any honest intelligent individual get to close to winning the White House, such as a liberal boogieman.

So you see, there could be multiple reasons why the owners of the world don't want the M$M to fawn too much the insane ignorance of someone like Palin; maybe it's because the disenfranchised liberal left is getting tired of being screwed and might not flock to vote in the corporate democrats, and maybe Palin could actually win. That's right, what if progressives just up and decided, give me liberty or give me death, we're voting for a real liberal. So... either way, with Palin in the picture, the predator class could be destroyed if a democrat did not win the White house, because they would most assuredly be destroyed along with everyone else when Palin cleanses the Earth with fire don't ya know, but if a liberal wins and law and order breaks out, they might be sent to hell with a noose around their necks. So it seems the most logical thing for the predator class to do is insure that a corporatist republican is on the ballot and not Palin, after all, even the psychopath predators who rule the world, have to evaluate and mitigate the consequences of their deception, some people are just to stupid to be allowed to be powerful...

Edited on Sun Jul-11-10 07:34 AM by Caretha
what to do with 12 million illegal aliens, infact she tries to avoid the question twice, but O'Reilly won't let her. She doesn't even know how many Nat'l Guard it would take to secure the US/Mexican border, O'Reilly asks, 'send 15,000?' and she nods/murmers in agreement. If he'd said 60k or 100k, she would have agreed with that number too. She also has no sense of how large or how costly it would be to erect a fence along our border.

All this airhead knows are sound bites. Spewing them out in her shrill voice and hoping she can rile up the uneducated while she lines her pocket with more of their loose change. I think that the rightwing talking heads, such as O'Reilly are ready to throw her under the bus. They don't want to be perceived as dumb nor lumped in with her.

23. Four minutes and nothing is said about the employers who want them. I can't
respect the Republican plan to create hate for 'Mexicans' - the short cut way to not have to say Guatemalans, Nicaraguans - which increases hate for Mexicans.

They are welcome by the baron class who in their grand plan are going to bring all of us down to $6.00 an hour.

That four minutes is wasted propaganda.

Please see the truth in this - the overall plan has a minimum of three objectives:

. convert the entire working class to a $6.00 an hour PAY grade

. retain the Republican VOTING block by keeping HATE at the forefront

. using a major portion of the population for increasing POLICING efforts

while taking full advantage of corporate tv to get the job done

25. Go to the Polls
If everyone who voted for him in 2008 would stand behind our President by getting out to vote Democrat in the midterms, perhaps we can pull this back if we could just try to take the fear and anger and turn it into just a little bit of hope. There has been so much disaster that this presidency has had to deal with since even before Day 1. Our world has become instant with television, internet, and the electronic age. I think that because of this we expect everything instantly, like a drive through burger. Changing the United States' course from where it was headed is not going to be easy nor is it going to happen instantly.

It is a tragedy that the GOP is obstructing everything including unemployment benefits. We need to show our displeasure in the midterms. Voting no on everything is a GOP plan to bring the country to its knees and destroy this President. Why would we want to agree with that tactic? I just don't get it.

If people could try to be calm, SUPPORT the democracy that we voted for, and offer your time and effort by volunteering and voting - we could help the change come faster. By sitting and complaining that things are not happening fast enough and pulling support away from change, we will by our own energies, halt change.

And that is exactly what the GOP is banking on.

PLEASE vote in your local elections. Volunteer for just an hour a week to become involved in your community and support your local democratic leadership. I'm out there doing this and I will be honest, even though I see people who have lost their jobs, they are still hopeful and they do NOT want republicans back in power.

We all have a responsibility to be a part of this change. President Obama cannot do it alone.

Are you kidding me? She is sitting in her basement with her rolling background like a walmart photo studio, prending to be president??? If it weren't so creepy it would be hysterical.

She has no clue and if she had a shred of respect for the office of the President of the United States she would have stopped O'Reilly from referring to her as "President P___". Of course we know better, I'm just saying..

39. Once again, Palin et al attack the symptom and not the cause of the disease.
Why are so many Mexicans entering the U.S. illegally? To get a job. That's a two-headed serpent.

First, NAFTA drove Mexican farmers off their land by enabling the U.S. to, among other things, flood their cheap corn into Mexican markets. Is Palin prepared to revisit NAFTA to address these problems it's caused? I'll see pigs fly before that happens. The thought of revisiting or revoking NAFTA would be fatal to Palin's political career due to the big money interests that support it.

Second, many Mexicans end up employed at factories or whatever, performing backbreaking and dangerous jobs for peanuts. Is Palin prepared to confront her corporate friends and turn off the cheap and illegal labor spigot? I highly doubt it.

How does she plan to capture the 12-million illegals once the fence is constructed along the Mexican border? Is she prepared to conduct raids at all the IBP plants and other places that you know are loaded with illegal immigrant employees. That'll make her corporate friends happy.

She'll also catch hell from one of the biggest Republican organizations of any kind--the Farm Bureau. They want that pipeline of illegals to continue to enable their corporate megafarm members to operate more cheaply.

Geez, Palin is so stupid, it's beyond words. What's more discouraging is that there is a significant percentage of the population who think she's everything this country needs to turn things around. I'd bet that most of these people are thinking through their penises and not their brains.
