1. Good points
even though the MSM has tried their best to push Kucinich aside in these debates, he is hitting home runs when he talks about health care and Iraq. I find it interesting that polls indicate he was tied with Clinton for second place in this debate.

4. Dennis Won this debate.
Other thoughts:

Gravel's blustery anger needs to get some focus like, yesterday.

I like Richardson, Dodd and Obama.

I don't like Biden. But I'd have a beer with him.

I want to like Edwards. And I'd have a beer with him.

Clinton again reminded me that if progressive's don't control the primaries we are *ked.

6. "pretty astonishing that clinton was decieved into IWR vote"???
Dennis is right. Without saying it directly he accuses clinton of LYING. Because she is. NO ONE WAS FUCKING DECEIVED! Especially not her!

Go Dennis!

15. Kucinich would NEVER attack Hillary
instead he uses "impeachment" as a carrot to lure supporters to his campaign - KNOWING Dems won't hold impeachment hearings because it would harm Hillary's presidential ambitions - with the media comparing BushCo impeachment hearings with Bill Clinton's.
OTOH - Kucinich exerts much energy attacking the ONLY viable Progressive candidate - John Edwards.

16. We won't know who's the viable progressive candidate
until votes are cast. Kucinich supporters understand that their votes are theirs. I would hope that Edwards supporters understood the same idea.

Go Dennis!

10. The guy just makes SENSE...
I loved his answer about education. He said he had a 'one point plan' for education and that was to take a percentage of the bloated Pentagon budget and pay teachers a DECENT WAGE. We are sick of living off of political pats on the back about "how selfless we are", "how hard we work", etc. BACK IT UP, FOLKS! And Dennis would do just that.

11. Kucinich Has the Best Policy Positions: Alert Local Media Readers.
Dennis's policy positions are by far the best thought out of any of the Democratic candidates. He is articulate and persuasive. We need to go beyond the conventional national media and alert local readers about his positions.

It's easy to do this through www.congress.org. Go to www.congress.org. Click on their "media" link. Click on "write your own letter". Enter a zip code for the local area you want to reach. Congress.org will produce all media within a 100 miles of that zip code. Pick 5 (the maximum you can choose at one time, but you can go back an infinite number of times.) Write your letter in a personal way which will show you are a real, live human being. (Ex. I'm an auto worker with 5 kids and no medical insurance....). SAVE YOUR LETTER (VIA edit, select all, save. function). Enter your identifying information, click submit and away it will go. Then start over, go back and pick 5 more media outlets, paste your original letter in the space, enter identifying information, and send it off again to 5 more newspaper. Not all will print it, but some will, and it doesn't cost a dime to do this through www. congress.org.

If you want to send a letter to a specific town but don't know the zip code, go to the congressional Representative for that area on congress.org "legislative" page. Click on the representative for that town or area, use the zip code that appears in that representative's postal address.

12. So, we could have single payer health insurance,
where the government pays private medical companies to provide care for all, or some bizarre hybrid plan, where the government pays insurance companies to pay medical companies to provide care for all. The second plan has the complexity of the current system in forcing doctors to work with a multitude of insurance companies, each with their own policies and restrictions, each fighting to pay as little as possible in order to maximize profits. Enacting it will have all the political cost of enacting a full single payer plan. And it will be staggeringly expensive as insurance companies learn how to game the system, thus proving to the people the Republican's point that government services are too inefficient to be used as a tool to help the poor. This is what the Democratic political establishment thinks is the "sensible" plan. Of course. Anything but doing the right thing.

13. He's a man of convictions, most are great... Oneis why he'll lose...

Note: I forgot about the original clip, but I watched his interview with Bill Maher which is an option at the bottom of the screen when this clip finishes. It's very interesting, watch it and you'll see what I'm talking about below.

Nobody wants to hear about never fighting and trusting the spinless/nutless United Nations with the security of our country, let alone the rest of the world. I certainly don't buy into the republican / neocon line of wars of preemption and all that, but I'm sorry... As much as I like Kucinich and respect his stances, I'm not voting for a f*cking pacifist. Neither is the rest of this country.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, he said "every country has the right to defend itself", but when asked straight up if he'd take Bin Laden out he didn't say yes, which is the same as saying no as far as everyone in this country is concerned. It sucks too cuz I like the guy! Why can't he just say "Hey, after this guy plotted and executed a plan to fly planes into the side of the WTC and kill 3000 Americans we were right to go into Afghanistan. We were right to take down the Taliban. We were right to go after Bin Laden and Bush f*cked up when he took his eyes off the ball to go into Iraq".

If he could just say that much and repeat it he'd have a shot. The fact that he won't is why the self proclaimed "Sea Biscuit" is going to wind up in the glue/dog food factory.

14. Not everyone sees not saying yes as the same thing as saying no.
Are you sure you are speaking for "the rest of the country" about not voting for a man of peace?

17. He said he didn't believe in assassination,
or killing innocents. He also said he wanted Bin Laden tried before the international criminal court since OBL's crimes are international in nature. Oh, and he did vote for the Afghanistan invasion.

Sorry, sounds good to me!

Go Dennis!

Edited on Mon Aug-20-07 09:25 PM by mirrera
That answer of Kucinich is what makes me like him best! When did assasination become normal? Because we have been told a story over and over about what Osama Bin laden has done? Excuse me that is what trials are for. You prosecute and present evidence that is then EXAMINED! Man we are so losing it in this country.
