When the big banks in America began collapsing under the weight of their own greed in 2008, then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson assured us that he would make sure this never happened again. But behind closed doors, he was working with the CEOs of these banks to come up with rules that would prevent the government from stepping too far into the business operations of these banks, making it less likely that meaningful reform would take place. And this was his plan all along. Mike Papantonio talks about why Hank Paulson is so beholden to these big banks with David DeGraw, founder of the Amped Status blog.

2. Eye Opening.
I thought our economy tanked because the gubmint made the bank loan po people money they couldn't pay back! :sarcasm:

Seriously though, this speaks volumes about this administrations priorities. If they started with Paulson as an example to the other banksters, this continued thievery might slow down, while the other players, like Geithner are thoroughly investigated.

3. What does this say about the federal government and big businesses?
They continuously hire people with corrupt backgrounds like Paulson and keep revolving him in high places within their systems and pay him millions.

If people like us had as little as a speeding ticket on our records, we'd have a hard time getting a part-time job at the local 7-11.
