4. I have a question...
why does the media, specifically CNN defend this guy? Why can't they ever see the forest for the trees and ask the right questions? Anderson Cooper, never have liked the guy, never will. Alan Grayson, the guy is awesome, wish we had another 50 like him.

it actually could be illegal...the licensing board in that state could very well have unambiguous rules regarding such as "dr" cassell is doing.

18. I think he pointed out the obvious
Dr. Jackass did not refuse care from anybody so that's a fact. What I still don't understand however, and that's why I am angry at cable news in general, is what is "substantively" in the law that this jackass is protesting. I would have let him talk specifics about what he "found" to be troubling to him in the law, allow him to discredit specifics of his teabagger position and then let experts from CNN analyze what's actually in the law as opposed to what this doctor says he thinks it's in it. That would have actually informed the electorate for a change and would have gone beyond the left vs right hate dynamic that these cable news charlatans feed off of.

24. Dr. Jackass did not refuse care from anybody so that's a fact.
Then why the sign?

Is he practicing medicine or politics?

And if both, how are the commingling? Can he legally?

Actually, it's a public service, that sign. It tells anyone with a brain that this doctor does not have just healing in mind while he practices. Go somewhere else indeed.

6. Two points:
Grayson's last sentence was spot on "Why are Republicans so obsessed with denying health care".

And, Republicans are poor, poor losers - when would a Democratic doctor or any other professional deny service based on voting record where the Democrats lost?

7. Cooper was outclassed on that one...
he tried to turn the tables and wound up under it. Grayson made Cooper look like a complete idiot, not the hardest thing to do, but it was fun to watch.

Would be interesting if this urologist had 75% of his business lost because of the D element that goes to him...:D

8. This is so silly.
The AMA has very few doctors as members. They hardly speak for a majority, nor are they experts. Doctors have always had the right to deny treatment to anyone for any reason.

11. No, they do NOT have the right to refuse treatment 'for any reason'.
The AMA's Code of Ethics applies to all doctors. Doctors cannot refuse to treat patients for many reasons, including emergencies, to ensure continuity of care, or for any reason that is illegal, i.e. discrimination based on sex or religion.

And stuff THIS in your pipe:

"Under no circumstances should physicians allow their differences with patients or their families about political matters to interfere with the delivery of high-quality professional care. - AMA Code of Ethics, 9.012."

You'd better know something about a topic before you open your mouth about it and say something stupid.

Check your facts. Doctors DO tell patients they will no longer see them. For ANY reason. There is no recourse. Medicare answer line will back up this fact. About 17% of doctors belong to the AMA. A MINORITY. The membership of AAPS is increasing, according to news accounts > http://www.aapsonline.org/

I had a doctor 'fire' me. Friends have had dentists (DDs) fire them. It happens all the time. For ANY reason. Now who said something stupid?

The AMA is a private membership organization. Why in the world would you think it applies to ALL doctors?

Maybe they should turn down a few Republicans. Maybe that would wake up the Tea Baggers to how offensive this Urologists' position is.

16. Saw it last night on AC360 and it was priceless
Grayson always prepares himself with at least one nugget. His last statement left Cooper speechless just as Grayson intended.

I've come to appreciate how Grayson is aware of just how much time he has left in an interview and makes the most of it by saving a bombshell for the last few seconds.

31. The death of journalism...
There is a kind of irony with the mainstream media in that the desire to APPEAR objective has destroyed any real objectivity in their reports. Cooper says he isn't taking sides (he wants to look impartial and nonpartisan) -- nor is he reporting any facts (there is no objectivity without facts.) Real journalism is more that just being a mediator in a discussion between two parties, but corporate media is not about journalism its info-tainment garbage.
