Fox News' Bret Baier interrupted President Obama so many times during Wednesday's interview that Newsweek described the enounter as a "interrupt-a-thon."

Baier acknowledged his repeated interjections at the end of the interview, by interrupting the president once more to apologize. Baier told Obama "I apologize for interrupting you, sir. I tried to get the most for our buck here."

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell said that he could not recall a reporter ever questioning or interrupting an American president in such an aggressive way. Certainly, O'Donnell argued, Fox News never took that approach with former President George W. Bush.

The Associated Press reported just a few of Baier's interjections.:

Several times Obama chided Baier for breaking into his lengthy answers with follow-up questions.
"Bret, you've got to let me finish my answers," Obama told Baier, the news channel's White House correspondent during the Bush administration.

"Sir," Baier responded, "I know you don't like to filibuster, but ..."

"Well," Obama said in cutting him off again, "I'm trying to answer your question and you keep on interrupting."

The tone was set early. Baier first asked about the latest efforts in the House to pass the bill, which elicited Obama's standard talking points about the benefits of the overhaul effort. Baier tried to bring Obama back to the question.

"Bret, let me finish," Obama said.

An unhappy Obama completed his answer, repeating his familiar reasons why lawmakers should pass legislation that would deliver the White House a victory on its top domestic priority during an election year when Democrats face tough prospects.

"Let me insert this," Baier said, trying to regain control of the conversation

2. I didn't get to see it all
I didn't get to see it all because I was working at the time, but I did watch some commentary on it on Shep's show, and I remember hearing them talking about audience response or online responses o some crap like that, and I remember them saying something about how others were saying the President was being disrespectful and interrupting all the time and blah blah blah... and now that I have viewed all 3 clips, it is VERY CLEAR that it was more of the opposite... the President was being disrespected BIG TIME by Faux News.

3. Viewers complaining about the President interrupting the interviewer's talking points?
It is pretty clear that Fox's viewers have forgotten how journalism is supposed to work. The interviewer asks questions, and the person being interviewed answers. Its not supposed to be about the interviewer shouting talking points over the person being interviewed.

Reconcilliation!

Deem and Pass!

Blah, blah, blah!

4. I didn't get to see it all because after 2 minutes I feared for the safety
of my computer and for the safety of the people driving in the road outside of my house.

6. President Obama should never
have gone on Fox in the first place. All he succeeded in doing was to give Fox a credibility and dignity it most certainly does not deserve. Ailes and Murdoch are his sworn ENEMIES.

7. Well this is what I think....
President Obama said he wanted to go onto Fox so that he could get his message out to the Democrats and Independents that watch FoxNews. Well FoxNews KNEW why he was there and they deliberately wanted to get the upper hand. But what they did was make asses out of themselves.

I am disgusted.
I am ONLY 50 years old.
When I was growing up we were taught that ALL Americans were supposed to show 'respect' to the President.
That didn't mean you had to agree with him but you were supposed to SHOW respect.
When someone interrupts a President repeatedly - that is NOT respect for the man or the office!

The way Bret Baier conducted the interview was disgraceful!

If this is what America has become - then SHAME ON AMERICA!

*** The children are watching!

8. He knew he couldn't out do him so
the interruptions were only to try to break up President Obama's train of fault. He tried to throw him off base. But he got fooled didn't he. AND of course made himself and Fox News look stupid again. President Obama has the presence of mind to overcome these type of things. Good for him. Again..made drudge jr look like an ass.

9. Is this a surprise? It shouldn't be.
I remember when O'Reilly interviewed Obama -- it was downright disrespectful. I hope this is his last interview on Faux News.
