1. A stuttering idiot.
No coherent thoughts and no coherent sentences from this cheerleading asskissing toady.

15. Rachael is probably the smartest "news" person
on the TeeVee, and a Rhodes scholar.

36. You're right, but I'd bet she'd want a do-over of that segment.
Even Rhodes scholars stumble once in a while.

Ask Clinton.

2. Rachel is fearless and awesome
As usual, and she's probably the only source of political reality this guy is likely to be exposed to. Sadly.

3. Rachel is losing her edge.
She lambasts something she knows very little about, spends twice as much time talking as her guest does, and pronounces the policy she first heard about less than 5 minutes ago, a complete disaster.

Yep, that's awesome all right.

6. You seem to be describing yourself, not Rachel.
But I'm sure the President appreciates your unquestioning loyalty.

26. "Rachel is losing her edge." Absurd.
Rachel's edge is razor sharp. If only those in charge of this country had as sharp an edge.

'It's impossible, just impossible I say, that Rachel could have a misstep.'

5. I LOVE Rachel - but I felt like Jared was trying to connect with her and she was going
"lalalalala I can't hear you".

I don't agree with everything Jared said but I felt like Rachel wasn't listening to the points he was trying to make.

That's okay - that just means that this administration is going to have to try harder to make people believe in what they are selling.

23. Except polls already show that WE SIMPLY CANNOT ACCEPT THIS BARF!
Edited on Tue Jan-26-10 03:24 AM by truedelphi
The American people are sick and tired of wars we cannot win using money we don't have. Poll after Poll shows us that. And Obama's latest message is just more putridity - cutting back in ways that will hinder employment, so that there will be the extra money for those blasted wars.

Are you aware that in the middle of Holiday celebrations, our brave Congress awarded the Military Industial Complex yet another one hundred and sixty eight billion bucks to continue with expanding the war in Afghanistan, and continue our presence (and perhaps) our pulling troops out of Iraq?

This policy of war expansion is not what we want.

We did not vote for President Obama to get endless wars.

Especially not when experts say that to win the war in Afghanistan, then we have to attempt economic endeavors such as school building, water sanitation treatment plants etc. While we are required to be shutting down the schools and school programs here, because things are so tight in our national budget.

7. This was not Rachel at her finest
but I will give her a pass because all in all I think she is the best. I really got the feeling that Bernstein was put on the spot and felt restricted on what he could and could not say at the moment and Rachel obviously did not have any details. It made for an awkward debate in which both looked rather silly.

33. A point excellently made.
She didn't know what she was talking about because she had no details. I'm surprised at her aggressiveness given that fact.

And he struggled in part because he wasn't prepared either and had to grapple with not saying too much.

22. Aw, stop pickin' on Ramen Noodle, I mean Rahm Emanuel.

Wet noodles who cave to the GOP at every turn have feelings TOO, ya know!

What's so bad about one more appeasement of the GOP ANYWAY!?

Freezing worked for Hoover, didn't it? What's so bad about "stupid Hooverism"? It's not as if we had a depression afterwards or anything!

Here's the second half of Rachel's interview with Jared Bernstein ---

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loszk2DsNlE

I'm with Jared! See the whole interview before you decide that Hooverism is bad!

We have to reach across the aisle! More! More! More!

Phooey!

17. thank god Rachel was there to inject a little
sanity into this whole notion. I feel whiplashed by this week and the "attack on banks and wall street" only to find out that the only real thing being proposed to deal with the loss of jobs is a friggin "spending freeze".

No matter how Mr. Berstein tried to spin and filibuster, he can't spin his way out of this.

Holy frigging nightmare. This reminds me of the "clear skies initiative" and other B* named policies that did exactly the opposite of what they claimed---

I really don't see how even a master orator can spin this crap bucket as anything but a republican wet dream.....

Edited on Tue Jan-26-10 02:27 AM by Overseas
It is so very OUTDATED-- harks back to that already old-fashioned in the 90's New Democrat junk.

And yes, shades of Hoover instead of FDR.

Why aren't we going FDR already?

That worked. That's why the GOP hates it. Good government public works programs were successful. Put us back to work and we will spend the money.

Freeze spending and more jobs will dry up and we will have less to spend. And we will panic even more and spend even less even when we have jobs because we don't know where this cruel freezing will stop.

And to leave the bloated defense budget untouched after nearly a decade of Bush Gang war profiteering is cowardly.

I think they are just trying to put a better light on something that is being thrown at them by the 'lender-in-chief' - Beijing.

They would never admit as much.
