New Oklahoma law will publicy post details of women’s abortions online.

On Nov. 1, a law in Oklahoma will go into effect that will collect personal details about every single abortion performed in the state and post them on a public website. Implementing the measure will “cost $281,285 the first year and $256,285 each subsequent year.” Here are the first eight questions that women will have to reveal:

1. Date of abortion
2. County in which abortion performed
3. Age of mother
4. Marital status of mother
(married, divorced, separated, widowed, or never married)
5. Race of mother
6. Years of education of mother
(specify highest year completed)
7. State or foreign country of residence of mother
8. Total number of previous pregnancies of the mother
Live Births
Miscarriages
Induced Abortions

Although the questionnaire does not ask for name, address, or “any information specifically identifying the patient,” as Feminists for Choice points out, these eight questions could easily be used to identify a woman in a small community. “They’re really just trying to frighten women out of having abortions,” Keri Parks, director of external affairs at Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma, said. The Center for Reproductive Rights is challenging the law, arguing that “it violates the Oklahoma Constitution because it ‘covers more than one subject’ — a challenge that previously worked to strike down an abortion ultrasound law.”

2. As long as they have to post gun sales records and concealed-carry permits
Think there's a chance of that happening?

4. "281,285 the first year and $256,285 per year after" is a public raping as well
I want that contract!!!

The application they are talking about should cost no more than $25K (complete with server gift wrapped with a bow) and $5K / yr.

17. I called the state board of tourism on friday and informed them that we had called for a boycott
I got the usual "but you will hurt people" so quit electing these jerks, and we wouldn't have to boycott your states (like CO after Amendment 2, and SD when it tried to completely outlaw abortion, etc., etc.)

10. How about they post everyone who has had a divorce...
or a complaint of domestic violence lodged against them?

Why limit this to a single group?

I should think lists of anyone who has has a mastectomy, hysterectomy, vasectomy, individual medications and a host of other situations regarding medical conditions should be posted on the web in OK as well.

Other than this should never pass the the UUSC muster regarding several factors involved, one thing should be insisted upon...

we want to know who had the lobotomy so they could come up w/this!

12. Agreed! But why stop there?
Let's create a registry for everyone who's had a prescription written out for them. Who uses Viagra, Xanax, Oxy-Contin, Percocet, Percodan, etc?

Who's chosen to have surgeries for breast implants, penile enlargements or the removal of anal cysts?

By god, just imagine all the fun we could have with rules like these...

14. LOL...I only quit because the list would have gone on forever...
:D

I honestly don't think this will pass USSC muster, or any other Federal Court for that matter. Thing is, I have no idea where it is in the system...

Makes OK look like their leg is filled w/some serious mental problems though, at least those who would vote for an abomination like this. Bottom line, I want all those who voted for this to publicly put online, unaltered personal medical records of themselves and their families. Let's see what's out there...:D

15. This is so unconstitutional I can't even begin to guess what planet they're on...
not only is this a major lawsuit in the making, but HIPAA (if I have that right) establishes strict laws for patient confidentiality.

Oklahoma will be paying major penalties for this decision in the coming years.
