Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) traded in one of the only cars hes ever owned under President Obama's cash for clunkers program.

Nashville auto-dealer Lee Beaman confirmed that Frist took advantage of the popular stimulus program over the weekend by trading in his 1991 Suburban for a new Toyota Prius.

You couldn't get a better commercial for the stimulus program than having one of the highest ranking Republicans during the Bush Administration taking tax payer money for a new car. Sen. Frist said at first he didn't want to take tax payer money, but then reality set in.

Ahhhh, reality.

1. My car won't back up and needs transmission work desperately but I can afford to get a new one...

...under Cash for Clunkers or any other which a way. I have to literally push the car out of every parking space, or only park where I can drive forward to get out.

I hope Dr. Frist enjoys his brand new Prius.
