Canadian Senator Mac Harb brings over 200,000 signed petitions calling for an end to the Canadian commercial seal hunt to the Canadian Parliament in a wheel barrow.

The European Parliament passed legislation today to ban all seal products being imported.

2. They sell most of the skins, 80% to Norway

where they are used for coats, and also by fashion industry in Europe. The EU just passed a ban on seal products today, so the fashion industry use will be gone.

Really it is an archaic practice and continues because the government of Canada wants to stubbornly hold on to it, against all reason.

Honestly, it's hard to imagine anyone wearing a fur coat these days. I thought it sort of died out in the 1980's , but living in Florida I rarely see outerwear heavier than a stadium jacket.
